What will you make avoid buying this game?

After playing MAG for the Ps3

yeah...the netcode. That game has the best netcode ever. You just have to hit the other person and he will be hit. The lag is somewhat reversed. Your position in the game appears a bit later so people can shoot you from around corners when the lag is "that" bad.

However, If your charging around corners in this game you should most likely be hit with a hail of bullets from a DISTANCE.

No, it's not. Just because back in the day people used to play over dial-up doesn't mean it was alright, in fact, it was horrible. There's a reason why LAN centers were more popular back then.

And the OP wasn't talking about ping, he was talking about the net code of the game.

Realistically? Nothing... I AM buying it.

The better question would be what would stop me playing it after I bought it. Aside from health issues...
- If its severely buggy without hope of being fixed. I doubt this because I remember ROOST was a bit buggy on release and I still stuck with it and TWI kept patching and updating the game.
- A massive influx of childish, text chat spamming, consolish players who run around trying to play the game in any mode as if its COD DM -AND- the inability for me to find a more adult oriented server where those players won't ruin my experience. Again, unlikely.

Honestly, almost if not everyone on these forums will be preordering/buying day 1, so we will just complain afterwards if there is something grievously wrong, which there won't be. When half of the ppl are stunned beyond words while playing alpha, I think the game will be decent at worst.

Nothing will stop me from getting the game and TWI would really have to mess something up for me to stop playing after purchase. My #1 game of 2011 and the most excited ive ever been for a release.

Also for the netcode, in roost it's really good. I typically play 150-180 ping and it runs really smooth, I just have to aim a little farther ahead of moving players to hit. Im sure it will be great in HoS too. If I can, on high ping, consistently hit moving players with a bolt after gauging how much I have to lead, I think its doing better than 90% of the games out there.

Just curious. What kind of missing feature\design choice will PREVENT you from buying? To me it's the netcode, I guess I've learned to appreciate prediction from certain other games and I know I'll be pissed off if a ping of 100 is able to screw with my ranged shots.

For me the mostly likely causes would also be the netcode...specifically LAN functionailty, Steam as a requirement rather than an option; and then also the strength of the co-op gameplay.

It is however likely that even with none of these that I will impulse buy it out of the bargain bin eventually.

Well, Steam is going to be a requirement, they use Steamworks etc. It's pretty integrated to Steam.

I bought Killing Floor when it was pretty late in it's life cycle and I happened to get on servers where the players pretty much turned me off. From silly voice spamming to annoying behaviour in the game, all could be found between a few servers, till i came to a good place.
So other players could really turn me away from a game.

I have absolute faith in TWI's goal for ROHOS and they are yet to disappoint with any of their other titles.

Until I am disappointed I will continue to sound like a raving fanboy.

Unfortunately I live in a country where the average salary is u$s 250 to u$s 300 and spend that amount of money equivalent to eating rice for a month, if I reach for the rice ... I wish I could pay much more, really I love this game, but I unfortunately I can not afford it ...
