What I will be getting?

Massive amounts of Bolo Rei and eat it while sitting near my fireplace. Recessions are terrible.

If you have never eaten a proper Portuguese Bolo Rei you have no idea what you are missing.

That looks like someone took a doughnut and chucked everything sweet they could find and chucked it on. I must have one.

Additionally to the OP I'm now also getting:

Mass Effect 2 (PS3) -> might give that to a friend, because I want everyone to have played this masterpiece
ICO & Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS3) -> something different from the usual fps crap
Source Code(blu-ray)
nightmare on elm street(blu-ray)
Truck & Dale vs Evil(blu-ray)
Insidious(blu-ray)

Thought about getting L.A. Noire (PC) but user reviews are so negative(sucky performance and for some the game won't even install) that I won't.

Good books or school books?
Books to study for "enjoyment". World Religion books to start off with. I'm trying to educate myself in world religion and working towards being a "self-claimed" Scholar. I just have an interest in studying and learning what other peoples ideals and philosophies (as well as beliefs) are. I'm a weird person, no need to say it. :D

Get yourself some good novels instead... they are made up too, but at least they make sense most of the time.

I've had trouble when it comes to reading novels. :( I really dislike the aftertaste when I am done reading a novels. Makes me feel sad (in the sense of "oh man, it's done, but I want mooorrreee!" and it gets me thinking about it for about a week straight.

Perhaps one of these days I'll look for a new series of novels to enjoy. :)

You're not weird for wanting to learn and enlighten yourself. Life is short and you should do what you enjoy. If reading about such subjects is what satisfies you and brings you enjoyment, you should be happy that you've found something like that in your life. I suspect that may be more than most people can say.

Probably two or three well worn out credit cards. After the wife and two college seniors get through over spending for each other, it seems that dear old Dad always gets to pick up the tab. Sometimes I'd swear this family is trying to single handedly fix the economy....
