Half-Life 2 was a success.
Half-Life 2 DM was a success .

Obviously, the Half-Life realm is not the same as the KF realm, but that doesn't mean that making a DM would ruin KF. Making mods that completely change the gameplay is one thing, making an alternative mode of play while staying in the same realm is another.

Less trolling please.

And BTW, who says that DM can't be fun? Think of it, a map with six individual player spawns...it would be a last-man-standing thing. Try to survive with no trader, only more frequent gun/ammo spawns. Your ulitmate objective is to eliminate all the other players, but you have to fight off the zombies too. Don't be too distracted or your opponent might get in a surprise shot! Everyone gets reset at the next wave, 1 point per enemy kill, -1 point per time you die by zombie, best score at the end of X number of rounds wins.

I play vanilla servers all the time, I can probably get the IPs of a few of them if you're desperate.

Well, I do too, but it's mainly by sticking to a few favorites and occasionally searching for the "vanilla" tag, but if you just look at the bare list of servers, it's very hard to find one.

Luck Ace your point is kind of lost when you start doing nothing but trolling like a child.

The mods are players choice - as stated before you don't have to play them. You always have the ability to host a private listen server with friends and enjoy vanilla KF. TF2 and CS are both pretty easy to find vanilla servers for and given the extremely high player base for both even if vanilla servers were hard to find the mods clearly aren't killing the games. I agree that a DM game mode would be silly but I don't have to play it so why bother caring?

People paid for the game and they pay to host their servers. They're allowed to run those servers however they want with whatever mods they want.

LOL. Killing Floor Deathmatch? Everyone would be either Supports with shotguns or Medics with Handcannons and body armor...

Yet another reason not to mod

Yet another reason not to mod

I recently tried a mod for killing floor, the Hive map to be specific. Corrupted the game. Need I say more?
