Well, with tehnology evolving fast, maybe we could have in the future such thing. I would like a combination of Armed assault and Red orchestra and planetside.

I once imagined a WW2 version of Planetside 2. Essentially it'd be like RO2 but if the map was the size of Skyrim (something like 10 square miles) or even bigger with hundreds of players on each team.

Iron Front Liberation anyone? That never went anywhere due to the clunky ARMA engine and the fact that unless you were in a clan, you were lucky to ever see another human on a server. The potential was epic though.

The Squad devs are very excited to assist someone in modding a WW2 version of their game using their assets. When it's released lol. They plan to have 5K square maps, and from watching the pre alpha gameplay, Unreal 4 looks like a good engine.

I wouldn't expect TWI to move in that sort of direction, I'd imagine they will stay with a smaller scale, less sim shooter.

Unreal 4 went to cryengine levels of awesomeness. Unity is also aiming for that goal to compete.

Red orchestra 2 would be really nice if the maps were as big as, lets say Armed assault and maybe if we would have over 500+ players per map. Maybe this can be done in the future, who knows, in 10 years from now PC hardware will be 100 times better and games like red orchestra should be 100 times better, don't you think?

Well, we'd only need two or three servers running at a time then. It would be energy efficient.

I wonder the same. RO2 is a great game. But the uniform seems a bit plain.. I'd like to see custom uniforms. Like player can choose what they like. For example, player can choose the M36 or M40 top with WH's camo pants, and short boots, M43 hat or M35 helmet.. I really like the thing in RO1 that you can fix bayonet, instead of carrying it all the time. I forgot how to spell the name of that map, Demiyansik? Something like that.. In that battle, I remembered it was Waffen-SS that under attack. So, maybe give us some SS's uniforms? I know.. Nazis.. But it would be really nice... And they added Pz.III and T70, which is nice to see. But I wonder if there gonna be Tiger I.. Because that the most iconic tank in WW2... Or there should be a mod that one side is in defensive position, and other side attack them. Both sides with limit respawns, like 5 respaens per player.., if one side ran out of people then they lose? And I really want to see West Front, Americans vs Germans. And maybe add British paratroopers? Maybe add some classic maps like Normandy, or even battle of Berlin.. I know nobody gonna read this, but I just really want to say those things.....

But who would develop RO3? Tripwire needed 3-4 years for RO2 leaving like half the content they had on the road. They should have dropped the campaign instead of other things.
The next RO - if there'll be ever one - needs the things left out by default and of course needs all the destruction and physics. By 2020 no one will accept it if you can't blow up something and you don't got debris flying around.

Something that I've always been thinking about is a Brothers in Arms like campaign for Axis only. Yes, Axis only as we've billion shooters depicting the Allied side. Make a story like Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts' Lehr Division and have a good AI ready. This would sell like fresh buns!

However, I doubt TWI could amass the manpower ...

Maybe they could, if they team up with Armed assault creators or men of war. It would be nice to see the gameplay from those two games in Red Orchestra.

They did drop campaign, it was brought back into the game by the community and eventually made official by TWI.

I'm taking about the Singleplayer, this bot match stuff that is supposed to be a SP experience. I was mad to get the game back then when I heard German singleplayer, 'cause for nearly 20 years all there ever was a campaign from Allied perspective, then I started the campaign, training looked good and then the first mission and my mind was blown. Mindless bots and a multiplayer map? I rage quitted.

The multiplayer campaign mode is nice except for its flaws we already discussed such as maps being played just in one direction which is an immersion killer, at least for me.

i like your energy and nooooo never hand grenade to the chest!

I like your energy and i think that bringing quality user made mod's / content into the game is a good idea; which they do with maps already. I think heroes of the west would be a good thing to bring in to the base game as well as the people who finished the pacific tanks using the assets from sdk. I would like better team focused abilities like assisting light mg as a rifleman by while being adjacent press crtl on the lmg and while with 2m reload time halves or sniper spotter combination etc. their probably but ideas but meh. Now as for in game currency and purchasing weapons "mercenary" style if you will no way ever i tried to avoid games like that for as long as possible it would ruin the feel of it and bring the game to a low, when players pick up opponents weapons and their usually experienced, i'd like it to stay that way.

I'd like to see a port of RO2/RisingStorm to Unreal Engine 4 with more detailed environments, higher poly models, character customization and a few new weapons. Make Heroes of The West and Official Expansion while utilizing DX12 for increased performance, maybe even increasing the player count to 100.

I'd like to see some more CPU optimizations for RO2/RS, sometimes I'm still dropping to the 30's~40's with GPU utilization below 80% --> CPU bottleneck.
Shouldn't happen on a Core i5-3570k @ 4.2 Ghz.

I have the same CPU not overclocked at 3.4GHz and am fine. Stays at 60 almost all of the time. When it isn't its never below 50.

You do have to remember this is unreal 3. An engine notorious for its poor CPU utilisation.

AMD or NVidia GPU? GPU utilization dropping to the 60's with framerate in the 40's on Demyansk is infuriating. I don't know if it's the mapdesign or engine related, but something has to be done about it.

AMD 5850 1GB. Which is perfect for RO2 considering RO2 is 32 bit and will only use 1GB of video memory anyway.

How much ram do most computers now have?

8-16GB of RAM for most people. Steadily leaning towards the 16GBs of RAM.

Video card memory more people have 2GB cards than 1 GB cards. 4Gb cards are rather common as well with many people having video cards with 6-8GB of memory. Some games are actually having ultra graphics settings as an optional download becuase the textures are so huge and only people with beast computers can run it anyway. So clearing up a Gig or two of hard drive usage for people who won't be running ultra settings is fine.
