Since we don't have our blog structure in place yet, I felt I would make this post to give the community a general idea on what we are up to here at the office.

To start it off, some of you may have noticed the KF Halloween event has come to an end. And do I hear jingling not to far off in the distance?

As to Red Orchestra 2, work continues on all fronts. We are investigating the stutter/micro stutter issue. We have some early promising results and are testing some things now to improve the situation. We continue to work on other performance improvements, but this should be the first one to make it out the door in the near future.

Work has also been done on improving the Occlusion quality system resulting in better performance when using the lower settings. The most improvement will be seen when using sniper scopes.

As far as maps go, we have made changes to maps to work on the spawn camping issue that many players are reporting. The level design team has also balanced out the role availability differences between infantry only and combined arms maps.

Last but not least we are nearing the end of the beta stage of our SDK and will release it to all RO 2 owners with code publishing support.

As to the future, we are working on the features that did not make launch including Multiplayer Campaign and several additional clan match systems. The design team is also taking in community feedback and is looking at potential changes to gameplay. We'll have more on this in the future as more gets done on these.

Sounds good. Hopefully performance improvements and gameplay changes will bring some of the susie crowd back to the game.

Thanks Yoshiro for an update. I'm glad you are still here, working on RO2 and have reasons to do it. These are small steps, but we - your customers and RO fans - really appreciate. Especially last point is really important to us - gameplay fixes - these are needed badly. Your speech is better than Ramm's where he said "go take SDK/server options and fix gameplay by yourself". That gives us some hope to keep waiting and return to RO when you make these changes.
TIP: Check forum, people's opinions. Your team design should take a look on where RO:O were, where it has evolved (Darkest Hour) and where RO2 went (opposite direction).

I believe you have some plans for Steam's Christmas sale and I bet that's when you release missing gamemodes and features. I wish you good luck there.

Cheers for the update Yoshi, much appreciated :) I've been without interwebs recently due to moving house, but I think I'll pop on RO2 tonight and do some catching up :) heh

Hey that's great Yoshiro. Please tell the design team to consider changing gameplay features for realism servers only, should they fear a certain feature is too 'hardcore'.

Thanks for the update!

Please ensure that the design team are fully stocked with cookies because they have a standardised Realism game mode to build / add back in. *wink*

does this include a 'practice mode' ala RO1? Like setting up bot matches on the multiplayer maps?

And here it was this close *puts thumb and index finger really close to each other* that I started the thread "So, what are the guys at TWI up to?" (with that wording) earlier today and here comes the answer! Just toooooo much! In a good way. Anyways, many thanks for the update and I hope work is going well!
