Mamayev is a tough play for the Russians, but its never stopped us from trying. We have won it quite a number of times, but it takes real effort and cooperation. I love the map.

I agree... having secured many victories today in Mama as a Russian, It does take effort by all involved.

Some of the trenches should be connected better as it feels like they only flow against the defense.

If the Russians know what they are doing, or at least follow competent orders it will be a close match and possibly a victory.

It is still stacked against the Russians, regardless.

Besides no one should listen to anyone who talks 'balance' on that map, yet never wears a Russian uniform in game.

Is that even possible?

I don't believe that people would go "Oh, I can't play German, I'll go and find a different server", especially with the current population issues.

Sadly there are a lot of people who only play on one side. They usually dont leave the server but they sit in spectator mode until a slot is free,

True. If you read the forums enough, you will find even a few regulars who admit that they will only play a certain side. Issues anyone? :p

Whatever side you pick you get to fight totalitarian statists, either national or international socialists. Win - win. Pick a side, grab a rifle and head across the field!

when there are people like me, who usually allways pick russian, it's easy for people to allways be german. All they need is one guy to pick russia, while they're looking at the team selection screen.

As to working on a content update, we currently have two "penciled" in for deployment down the line. But there is still work sorting out what will be ready to make which update date. That is why I can't bring more information about them to the community yet :(. But I should be able to start doing so in the near future. We have some awesome plans for the game moving forward and I can't wait to talk about them.

TWI You guys just keep saying same and same each month for a year now. there is no new content exept one map and each month Yoshiro's post " new content in near future" ... So near future is when? we see now it is not a year becouse there is nothing new in the RO HOS in last one...game is really good, but it needs new content NOW, not in near future (another year for one map ?). Me and similar guys with over 500h played yet are already bored with HOS, please TWI try harder, give us maps, tanks, apcs, uniforms, anything that will make this game interesting and fresh again... meanwhile i am going to play ro1 ... thank You TWI for RO1, that was/is a really good job !

You cant just magically pop out new content. As much as I would like to see new stuff you should understand that the devs where mostly busy "fixing the game" before moving on to new content.

"fixing the game" that should have been nailed on release and not a mess that it was and continued to be for so long.

1 map, no new vehicles,no new weapons isn't the content update this community was promised and expected.

I believe that if new content isn't delivered very soon that contains allot more substance in regards to maps ,yes plural, and new toys then night night RO2.

I'd rather go back and play Forgotten Hope 2, at least they have delivered new content for a game developed in 2005 recently.
Even if it has been just as slow and painful as RO2 updates they understand that new content means more then a single map and tweaks to existing ones.

Tick Tock the clock is ticking TWi and time is running out....

interesting post. you do know that a year is twelve months, right? it hasn't been twelve months yet. i do agree with being a bit bored though. sure glad there's a bunch of mod maps out now. why aren't you supporting them though? :(

nostradomus has spoken. ;)
yeah, it was buggy and yeah, they should have ironed those out before release. they had their reasons. new vehicles and weapons would be great. maps are coming from them and the map modders. we have what, like eight mod maps already being used and bunch more, almost ready? and twi will have more for us soon. yep, i said soon. cause there's now way in hell they're going to tell us exactly when, and have us moan, if something sets them back a bit. and we sure can moan, when we think we're being lied to or ignored. ;)
i'm not sure why you mentioned that other game, unless it's to remind everyone, that twi will probably be bringing us new stuff, that far into the future. i'm looking forward to all the new stuff to come in the future. a little anxious, but not as much as others, it seems. :D

fixing the game" that should have been nailed on release and not a mess that it was and continued to be for so long.

Nobody wants a buggy game on the release. But the fact is that it happened. No one can deny that the game was a pretty mess at the release and if you ask me Tripwire was not really ready to release something like a big fish like RO2. RO2 is the biggest and most complex release Tripwire did so far and if you look back you see that they lacked some experience about releasing bigger games. There was a lack in the development but also a lack good and honest communication with the community. This is all stuff that happened and it was bad without any question but there could nave been two ways how it went from there.

1. Tripwire could have decided not to reall care since the game sold itself rather good. They could have made 1-3 small patches and pretty much leave the game in the state it was.

2. Tripwire could have decided to realize they made some mistakes and put over 6 months of work into fixing the game including directly involving the community.

Oh wait I think what happened was option number.

Let me explain you why developers often give you rater vague comments about further content before its released. If you ever have been involved into some kind of beta testing or creating something yourself you realize that a lot of stuff works good on paper but in the reality it does not work good. In every form of media no matter if it is music, movies or video games there will be a lot of content that the guy who is listening the record, watching the movie or playing the game wont see because it did not make it to the real release. In music you have b side compilations and when you listen to some you are often happy that certain songs did not make it on a normal record. Same thing goes to movies. A lot of movies have alternative endings, some are good but a lot of them are quite bad and you can be glad you never have to see them. When a developer is now saying that he is working on more content he has the same issue. He pretty much has to wait until he knows what is really going to make it a release and what not. The problem if if you would say something like:

Oh we are working on 5 new maps, 4 new weapons and 2 new vehicles.

People will be very upset even if there is a minimal change from what the dev said and what is actually getting released.

To sum this post up. I know its not very nice but some people need to realize that most likely TW just started to work on more gameplay content and it will be weeks and maybe even months if you really see bigger content updates. TW spend the last monhs from the release till now to find out what was wrong with the game and fixing it. If you have been in the beta test you are maybe aware of that already anf if not you should realize it now.

"fixing the game" that should have been nailed on release and not a mess that it was and continued to be for so long.

Should'a, would'a, could'a. You can go on & on about what should have been done, but it doesn't change anything.

1 map, no new vehicles,no new weapons isn't the content update this community was promised and expected.

Yet more claims of promises. Show me once where they ever said "we promise" something. Besides fixes, they also spent the last few months on Action & Classic cuz some in the community demanded it. I wanted more content since November, but sh*t happens.

I believe that if new content isn't delivered very soon that contains allot more substance in regards to maps ,yes plural, and new toys then night night RO2.

Quite the possibility with some players & even I may take a break for a while, but I'll always come back, as will many others.

I'd rather go back and play Forgotten Hope 2, at least they have delivered new content for a game developed in 2005 recently.
Even if it has been just as slow and painful as RO2 updates they understand that new content means more then a single map and tweaks to existing ones.

There's the door... put your money where your mouth is then.

Content is coming, the information provided to us by them is the same as it's always been given with past games regarding content.

Some words I remember from Valve when HL2 was being worked on:

"It'll be ready when it's ready."

Be grateful you're being told anything.

I'm probably in a minority here, but I'd rather be told nothing than 'we're working on light tanks and half-tracks, stay tuned for more news' and then be told absolutely nothing in the 6-9 months since that statement.

Obviously you can't please everyone, but it is frustrating when we're not even allowed to know whether the new stuff is coming this year.

Yes sir ! that is all i and belive not only, want to know.

As for other game companies - they say nothing as someone of You guys said .. well TWI never was a typical game company. They were, and i belive they still are gamers as we all are in a first place. And that is why ro1 was so good. They still want to develop HOS with help of game comunity . Community is talking to You guys - we need new stuff !!!! otherwise soon everyone will get bored, and there will be noone to play in TWI ladder when it will finally start...

Maybe you heard something else but I heard no comment from the devs like:

we are actually working on halftarcks or mg42's RIGHT NOW and you gonna see it in the next update.

This is pretty much why as a example Yoshiro cant say much about further content at the moment.
