What We Are Up To - Maggot Hill

Tripwire is pleased to announce that some of the next additions to Rising Storm include the battle of Maggot Hill/Nhpum Ga and (found by modders already) Merrill's Marauders.

Merrill's Marauders, made up of a series of light infantry assault units (lacking heavy weapons), was ordered to take up position at Nhpum Ga and hold it against attacking Japanese forces in April of 1944. Ill equipped for this holding action, the Marauders were put under siege and often time surrounded by the Japanese.

Faced with poor health conditions and limited supplies, the Marauders managed to hold. At the end of the battle, 400 enemy were confirmed dead with 57 dead marauders and hundreds more wounded or incapacitated.

Maggot Hill, like the troop transports, will be joining the Rising Storm beta application in the future. As we move into December, many of the team will be taking time off to visit with friends and family. This means you will see less updates from the team during this holiday season.

Looks amazingly well done and unique anyway. Any idea as to what kit loadouts Merrill's Marauders will have?

EDIT: Also, not criticizing, but what has taken this map so long to be finished? Its existance has been known for quite a while now (assuming this is the same map as nhpum ga) http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=53524&highlight=merril's+marauders

Ah, I've been trying to get this environment for some Hill/Ridge environments in Okinawa. All failures so far I swear, it seems like there's one single good picture of every hill in Okinawa but only one.

What are the Marauders, basically just light infantry? Is this a single map ('Maggot Hill') or is there more to the update? A new map and the transports is sounding good so far, though. Look forward to it.

I Think the B.A.R. will be their. It was very popular with the U.S. forces an used often. I think this basically means no Flamethrower.

Definitely. It does sound interesting.

The FT class is overdone on current RS maps. Its as if someone was afraid the maps won't be liked because the FT class was reduced or eliminated (meaning defending maps).
