Let's be honest, for me you are "VERY" kind with what is in this EA.

To me it is not a beta, probably not even an alpha, i would say a pre-alpha, there is litteraly hundreds of fix/enhancements to be made, we lack more than half of the game and all the balancing pass on pretty much everything "weapons, classes, talents, mobs, environement, et cetera..." Which obviously cannot be done because this is the last thing you do.

Maps are underwhelming too, they have no "soul", if you don't see what i mean you are either a fanboy or blind or unaware of what is missing.

I'm not commenting the lack of communication because i know how other companies can be (ex blizzard), ****ting on their customers mouth when D3 was released, or the stupid moves they are doing in WoD.

All in all, I am extremly disapointed so far.

I love the fact that no matter what game, there are always complainers. I was actually very impressed with how this first came out. I expect problems, and lack of content when I purchase an early access title. Most of the ones I have tried started out much worse than KF2 did. There was very little to actually do and 90% of the game was unfinished.

KF2 comes out with 3 maps and around half of the total perks that will be available. Not only that but the level system for those perks is already in place and you even have access to one of the bosses.

Also, it is fairly bug free currently. I have had no major issues with the game at all.

The fact is that you simply are complaining because more of the game isnt playable yet. Not because it is unplayable or riddled with bugs.

It seems to me that TWI is taking a very good approach with this so far. They add features, (maps and perks for example) only when they are mostly complete. I am guessing these perks were the first ones they worked on and are therefore the first ones that reached an almost finished state.

I much prefer playing with limited, but functional features than playing a game that has all of the features and only a couple of them work.

Yeah no kidding. Because TWI aren't communicating what they're working on.

It is annoying sometimes not knowing what is currently going on, however, look at it this way.

Given the often violent and aggressive nature of a good portion of forum posters, (not just this forum, all of them). If you were working on a game or program or any project really and still had lots to finish, what would you do?

A: Get meaningful work done on the project, actually doing something productive

or

B: constantly get on the forums to hand hold and baby the complainers and whiners who can't seem to wait for new info to come out.

The fact is, TWI is pretty good in the communication department. They aren't on every day, (and they shouldn't be really) but they seem to provide new information on a fairly regular basis.

No one likes it when someone constantly nags them about how stuff is coming along. Why not simply be patient?

Ultimately, we all were told what we were buying into, Early Access.

Steam has many warnings associated with EA games and if you bought into it anyway, then it is your fault, not the Devs, that you are currently dissatisfied.

but heaven forbid you be kept out of the loop for any period of time. It is obivously way more important that they keep spoon feeding you information than it is to actually work on the game.

Take this as a lesson and don't buy anymore EA games unless you can be patient and considerate.

I have been involved in an EA game that has been in development for around two years or more. It is still in development, but updates and information come out at an acceptable rate. At no point have I become frustrated or angry that the devs didnt tell me more or didnt give me everything I wanted in a specific update. That is because I knew what I was getting into before I bought the game.

But since you obviously know how a company should be run and what is involved in video game design, why don't you start your own company and create your own game. Then you can see what it is like to deal with all the whiners and complainers who cant be satisfied no matter what you do.

I am more than willing to wait but one month without improvements is disappointing when the community has pointed out so many flaws.

There's no requirement for games to go through an EA phase so if the developers decide to do so then they should have thought about what that entails. What does an EA entail? Communication, interaction, fostering a sense of community and ultimately building a better game based on what the community is saying whilst the devs weigh up the options and decide how to act. TWI has so far been very lacking in all of those respect with the KF2 EA.

It's funny how you reiterate the misconception I pointed out only a few posts ago about people on these forums.

It's not even a technical task to do. Seems like some people round here think that everyone works on developing the game so any time spent interacting with the community detracts from the quality of the eventual product.

Perhaps TWI should take this as a lesson not to do an EA if they're going to ignore the community.

Always the most pathetic retort in any thread involving criticism.

So if I get it well, you'd rather have them getting the full game out later and not being able to play it now? You're just the kind of guy who always see the glass half-empty, personaly I'm glad I can finally put my hands on it ( but you probably don't care, as much as everything else that doesn't suits you).

You're right, it doesn't but then, do you need to be fed every 2 hours? 2 kind of "people" do that: babies and whiners.

Perhaps TWI should take this as a lesson not to do an EA if they're going to ignore the community.
So to you ignore = not getting what I want...

Good for you.
And good for TWI and other developers to have such little whiners like you to get them back on the track, right?

Always the most pathetic retort in any thread involving criticism.
Always such whiners in forums when their gods...erm I mean devs do not give them what they think they deserve to get at a specific time.

Your name really does you wonders Public Enemy.

People just want an update, anything to address what is going.

Just a "hey we acknowledge these issues and we will be working on them as time goes on and will update everyone on the eta of said fixes" would do wonders.

People aren't asking for a GIGANTIC response or anything like that.

Just.....anything at this point.

Right, people are complaining about the lack of communication and content so therefore they don't want communication or content.

Way to miss the point entirely.

People want the content, hence why they're getting antsy. You can see the general demeanour change in the user posts, from excitement, to impatience, then to anger as each day rolls on without hearing something new.

I hate to be repetitious, but you sign up for an early access game, then it's implicit that you're not going to get the full package prior to release date.

Kids these days - gimme it all, yesterday.

you aren't helping the mass of ignorance by implying its kids that are the only ones doing this.

blah, blah, blah

If you want to deliberately interpret "an update" as "give me an hour by hour account of how the games being developed" then go argue by yourself. You've already convinced yourself you're right so it makes no difference.

It's also implicit that there's some feedback from the developer rather than silence for weeks. If you want to pay for what is essentially a closed beta at this point then fine but it shouldn't be called an EA if the community gets ignored.

Kids these days - gimme it all, yesterday.

Yeah if that helps you think you'll win an argument then go for it

The community isn't getting ignored. Roughly every two weeks. You know that roughly doesn't equate to "on the hour".

Exercise some patience, and you might be surprised.

Try your own words on yourself...

You know it all don't you...Where are these EA rules, that say that devs should give the community the feedback ? I haven't seen those. And how did you decide that the community is getting ignored ?
EA is a win-win for both developers and gamers, since gamers get to play the game they are waiting for, and devs get extra $$$ to keep working on the game, that's what EA is.

And all that you said about giving the comminity information not being a technical task and blah blah blah, you talk BS. Have you ever worked in your life ? Every person has his part of the work that he has to do, so you can't make him do something extra without paying him extra if he doesn't want to.
Tbh i wouldn't want to communicate with all you whiny kids if it wasn't my job.
And no, i'm not calling you a kid to offend you or troll you or anything of that sort, i'm calling you a kid cause you sound like a kid, who wants something but doesn't understand how most of the things in this world work, so he gets upset and angry.
So learn your lesson and dont buy into EA games, untill you fully understand what it means and all the fault is always yours with EA, you're the one who misunderstood what it was and had false expectations.

The team is prepping a "WWAUT" post in my absence.

The community is far from being ignored, the collective input and data we are getting back is shaping the very work that we prioritize and work on first (where possible). However, much of that work is not "simple" nor "easy" and will take some time to show in some visible form. We'll be talking more about these things as we dive more deeply into them (Right now much of what we can say, and have already said, is that we recognize many of the community tops issues and are starting to work on them. But what that means at this level is that designers are sitting around a conference table and yelling at each other, showing "awesome" coder pics about how systems may work, and the like).

As noted in the last WWAUT we are working to get some new content out to the player base while we continue to iterate on the rest of these items. Our goal is to have them at least about every two weeks (they may happen sooner but we don't always feel we will have enough to share in that time period that normal posting won't handle - and I happen to be gone during this period).

I think we may have some news tomorrow that will make (some) KF1 players happy
