Yeah, those that would prefer this mode either aren't playing or are playing very little. Their 'return' would boost the numbers playing the game. Any increase in players in the servers says good things about the game and could help promote sales. It also continues to say good things about TWI; that they continue to support the game after its release and support their fans, and along with the continued work on optimizations, that buying ROHOS is a worthwhile investment in fun and the company in the long run.

We are also digging heavily into the network issues that some players are reporting as well as issues with the server browser...

Soo..Tripwire,will you fix The real problems with the game:Net code,sound so we can have some of the playerbase back?. Putting out another gamemode without fixing these is just ridicolous.

The list shows some great things, but there are still some questions for me.

A small question, while lowered in amount will the breathing key still allow you to zoom in case you disabled the zoom in iron sights?

So basically in the ini if you set
IronSightZoomScaleSMG=1.000000
IronSightZoomScaleRifle=1.000000
IronSightZoomScaleBipod=1.000000

to something like
IronSightZoomScaleSMG=0.300000
IronSightZoomScaleRifle=0.300000
IronSightZoomScaleBipod=0.300000

What will the breathing button do, will it do nothing zoom related, or will it allow you to go back to the same zoom as everybody else is that got the zoom scale at 1.0.

As I prefer to have no zoom by default in ironsight for close quarters combat, and only have zoom when pressing the zoom button.

In terms of sway reduction of the breathing button. How big is that relative effect. As the zoom or breathing button can be pressed pretty much at all times you go into iron sights. One could easily bind the breathing button together with the iron sight key to always enjoy the reduced sway.

Are there any plans about changing the going into iron sight speed (especially when running). Aka can people still run in a room and nearly instantly go to ironsight and pop people. As additional sway and recoil doesn't greatly effect close quarters combat.

With weapon unlocks gone, will stat bonuses be gone as well. As in do people still have their 20% bolting speed increase ironsight increase etc. Or will everybody have the same capabilities.

As in terms of gameplay the increase due to stat unlocks are the worst offenders to gameplay in my opinion, more so than even the regular weapon unlocks (which primarily take me out of the immersion).

And the final question, is there any news regarding MG's. Like making main recoil lower (high level), while making hipfiring less effective.

Just a few questions:

-Like Proud God said, will you enable body collision between players?

-Will you slow down the speed of some actions (like reloading speed, running speed and especially ADS speed)?

-Will you make MG hip fire like in RO1 (that requires pressing ADS button in order to hip fire with a slower movement)?

And perhaps you shouldn't remove semi and auto weapons from the SL. Maybe you should reduce the availability of both assault and SL classes. On a 64 player server, having only 2 assaults and 2 or 3 SLs (4 SLs is just too much). Just try limiting more the availability of semi-autos, restricting them only for elite riflemen and commander, leaving SLs with the choice of an SMG or a bolt rifle.

That would require new animations, but Yoshi said they are working on new animations, so maybe they are for this feature.

And Yoshi, tell me something: can't you recycle some animations from RO1? That would spare you of additional work.

They are different rigs it isn't that simple sadly. And the rigs and systems in RO 2 are much more complex then RO 1's. Alot of our planning has gone into how we are going to build on top of our existing systems.

As far as what we are doing with networking, we are not adding lag compensation or client side hit detection. But we are looking to find what is going crazy in our current system and fix it. We aim to provide a similar experience to RO 1 and much of what we are doing involves watching and digging into the engine to find out what it is doing differently so we can address it.

Sounds excellent Yosh, is there any news on being able to have native German/Russian voices when you're on that team instead of the English rendition.

As I said, I'll speak more on existing system refinements in another "what we are up to". Not all of the planning in this area has been finalized but that is something we want to do along with player control changes/additions.

We are working on this as well. More will be posted on it in the coming weeks.

I basically dont play RO2 anymore, in its present state, as the mechanics of the gameplay dont suit my style of gaming needs. Yoshiros list though, does at least peak my interest in trying out what the RO2 classic mode will play like.

One thing to add to that list though is a little tick box on the sound options, which is to mute all AI tank sounds when you are inside the tank. It took me less than a minute to get totally cheesed off at the constant Turn right, Turn left, Turn right... etc etc..... Just give me a little tick box somewhere to shut them all up.

it is official this game is a mess.

For 4 months i have been waiting for all bugs to be ironed out, refinement of the game play and extra content.

Now we have "ro classic" to appease alot of old players and create a 3rd class of game which will lower over all server numbers.

Well done twi...this game has a bright future.

As someone who was playing RO since it was a mod, im excited. This is how you guys should have released RO2. I might reinstall it when this comes out. Before this I lost all hope for RO2.
