What should I do when I get one? Usually I just deny it.

I'm usually happy with my current role, and if some random chuckle**** takes my role I usually smack him upside the head and get my gear back.

Wait, are you saying you teamkill just to get a weapon? Why not just accept the commission instead just incase?

Shame on you for intentional teamkilling. Shame!

I do hate how hard it is to select your promotion class though. You only have the few seconds after the round ends and before the round begins to choose. If you click "accept" but don't click the new class and then "OK" fast enough, you just lose the promotion.

I'm sympathetic to having my role rudely taken by someone, so I always ignore it.

that's my feeling on it as well. first come, first served. get in line. what bugs me, is when the commander (the most important guy on most maps) leaves without saying anything. it's not till you wonder why no arty or respawn, do you notice. there should be a notification that tl's and sl's spots are vacant.

A few times I have taken the commission to obtain SL or commander roles, because the ones playing them were not using their class (not throwing smoke, going for objectives, placing arty), and they refused to do so even after being asked to several times.

But other than that (which is not often, because I usually play SL myself, so it is unnecessary) I also always decline them.

Just yesterday I was playing SL on Apartments, being no. 3 on the list regarding team points (and as usual most sure to be no. 1 by the time the round was over), when suddenly I had the dreaded "mouse pointer on screen freeze", ESC cures this, but I know it is a sign that someone has stolen my role, and sure enough as soon as I died I was taken to the choose role screen and no SL roles free, only riflemen and marksman.

That was my last game that evening.

I ignore it, or ask first. It's rude to steal (and that's what it is) someone's role that they're probably only trying to improve at.

Kind of stupid system in many ways, I get a commission when I am the top score. I choose commission yes -then pick the same class I already use have. Why you ask? Because the commission would be given to some other dude, who would most likely take my class, *facepalm*.
