This is really starting to pissing me off everytime i play maps with tanks most of the people want to be "one mans army" driving tanks alone telling one to get out???? Isnt this supposed to be a team game? I think the devs should implement a patch in that a tank could only be used with full crew on otherwise would note move at all. i think if ppl want to drive a tank alone they should play COD Uo and do not belong in this game.

most of them want to drive alone because there are lots of idiots doing stupid things which kill the entire crew. (or, as I often do: I wait for my mate to join in)

personally, i don

No "patch" is needed, good team tankers rule the map. But yes, no one tells me to "get out"... I just tell them to "go forward". :D

I am new to the game, but have quickly picked up a few people on friends. I normally try to pair up with them and only them. Otherwise, it is feeton the ground. With maps like Orel and Black day... it is a horror to be infy on that.. but it can be done.

The flip side to it is. Meet someone new and develop another team mate. I have to agree with GO FORWARD. Utimately... it's just a game.

CHEF!

I dont agree with you, that atitude kind of defeats the purpose of the game if you dont know a person you cant assume hes an idiot you have to give the benefit of doubt. If the that persons proves to be an idiot than you dont want to ride with him.

well it's been a prob for a long while, yes I dunno why they dont play cod:uo but there you go-

to be fair plenty of people like to solo tank, and ppl have the right to play how they want, but it's their attitude that can be a problem (wanting to take the only panther/tiger for example is a bit much, as is taking the last tank at spawn)
But as long as people are polite I get out. If not i stay in my seat go afk and put the kettle on or something.

I just suggest when you find a few like minded co-operative tankers like i did who you get on with, regardless of their ability suggest adding them to friends so you can team up again. I think it's important to remember that a good attitude is more important than ability (which will naturally increase)
Everyone benifits, as a double act you have more influence on the tanks at spawn ( though likewise you should accept extra crew if required), your skills inprove, and you make friends in the community (great for those long drives in orel).

I don't mind team tanking with anyone, so long as they're communicative, and I can understand them. Though I do also solo tank, but thats usually when numerical advantage comes in more handy than a single tank, faster loading tank is on the battlefield. The only thing I would prefer to solo in would be the self propelled guns, SU or Stug.

I like to drive with a team of unknowns, and know how surprised they must be when I drive and angle superbly and abide by their requests! :D

I actually enjoy sitting with a good gunner, watching those rounds fly and taking out distant targets! I could do that all day actually :)

I don't team tank with people when we have enough for each individual player to have their own tank. That's because I think numbers are often better because you can cover more territory.

I like team tanking when someone proves to be communicative and not a friggin' idiot. That, however, happens rarely, so I tend not to bother.

Here's a tip, though. you may find people more interested in team tanking if you ASK them first before hoppng in their tank, instead of ASSUMING they'll accept you. By asking first, you show that you are communicative and interested in working together. If you just get in and just hit the voice command buttons or don't say anything, they have every reason to think you'll be the kind of player who isn't really interested in working as a team, and really just wants a chauffer to drive you around while you shoot at stuff.

I know what your saying , but you can bet a pound to a pinch of sh1t you wont get a reply 90% of the time you ask this, whether it was read or not. So you can end up getting really frustrated.
But if we are being polite (but not to a point where we ruin our own game) I might jump in but not move anything and say 'mind if i man the mg' or whatever then build trust by suggesting you help in other ways
In the spawn you shouldn't have to ask, i presume you mean in the field, or at least after they have started moving away.

How is scoring done with more than one person in a tank? Does everyone get the same points if the gunner or machine gunner get kill?

I don't mind driving people around, but I don't have a mic so I feel sort of useless, and of course too many people are too ready to fly off the handle with one mistake. Plus I hate it when there seems to be a clueless gunner, he doesn't shoot anything, and when he does its his machine gun at the enemy tank.

Team tanking died back in the 80's I'm told. It was a noble goal but as I've been told by others "don't expect too much from players". In fact expect nothing and you won't be let down. Assume they have a deathwish and their tactical ability is that of a jellyfish. Cue Metallicas song "sad but true".

Today I inadvertently teamtanked because this one guy saw all the tanks were gone and decided to let someone come along. I got to be gunner. So long story short, he didn't speak or read english, I shouted "PANTHER/TANK STRAIGHT AHEAD/ WE CANNOT KILL PANTHER FRONTALLY!!", we were in a T34/76 (it's gun cannot frontally penetrate Panther), he parked us directly in plain view of the Panther and waited for Panther to finally kill us. I'm guessing he was trying to refresh my memory on why I don't teamtank (he did an excellent job).

I have one great tale though: One time I hooked up with an awesome gunner, I was driving, it was like friggin clockwork like we shared the same brain or something. There was no need to communicate because we were both in perfect unison & harmony. Yeah that was about it.........that's extremely rare in public servers though.

I experienced some great team tanking in the early days of the original Orel map and Orel88vs76. Back then, the tank servers were full of great players, but not anymore.

Now I'm a solo tanker. I'm simply more effective alone in a tank than with a driver or gunner who can't understand basic communications like "enemy at 11!"

I'm sick of people trying to impose team tanking on others and sick of tank maps which don't spawn enough tanks for those who want to go solo. I'm sick of having to literally escape spawn before some stranger jump in my tank. It's like being in a zombie movie when they are approaching your car as you are attempting to start it.

True, but if they don't respond, do you really want to be in the same tank with them anyway? ;) Chances are they don't want you there, aren't interested in working together, and may get you killed. I'd rather be a solo tanker in that case (no pun intended).

As for team tanking working out, I've had it work out quite well, and often when I volunteer to drive. If you ask me, driving's where it's at in tanking. Sure blowing up the enemies is fun, but the driver chooses the ground on which you fight and how easily you'll be killed. All the gunner does is point, click, and hope he hits something; no tactical sense required. ;)

I always teamtank, and if the guy jumps out of the tank at spawn, I follow him and get in his second tank. B*tches need to learn about teamtank. I used to go solo, but then I realized it's much more efficient with another person. One way or another, I get in a tank with some one else, even if it's against his will. And if it's an idiot, too bad, when we die I just wait for some one else at spawn. It's either teamtank or no tank.
