What is this 2699mb update?

Game servers has all servers down for RO2 for a mandatory update. It states they will be down for 30 minutes. This just happened 10 minutes ago.

You could try turning off steam and deleting clientregistry.blob and/or Appupdatestats.blob found in C:\Program Files\Steam. That might reset your queued downloads and prevent steam from re-downloading existing files (assuming that's what it's doing)
Its steam. It does this for me with a lot of games. Especially if I say shut the machine down in the middle of an steam game update. Next time I boot steam thinks the files are corrupt and decided to get them again.
There are various work arounds on the web including the .blob, verifying game files etc. But sometimes nothing works.

G'Day Im in Australia started up steam today and it starts to download a 2,699MB patch is this right 
as I only Played RO2 last night
as I only Played RO2 last nightwhat os are you using? I am cursed enough to be running vista and my patches are tons of gb, yet I can take a win7 laptop into a wifi spot to download and they're only a couple hundred mb at most
