I'm so upset! Russian weapons are SOOO OVERPOWERED.

This one time. I was running across an open field. when all of a sudden i fall over! Someone had shot me in the head! SINCE WHEN DO SOLDIERS DIE AFTER BEING SHOT IN THE HEAD? Atrocious!

Next, I was running around in this building with my friends. We were all using those MKB rifles because they clearly single me out as a CoD player, even though most battalions in the german army were machine gun focused! OUTRAGEOUS. So anyways, back to the building. This russian soldier SPRAYS with this super fast gun, and omg, i died. SO OVERPOWERED.

...i don't like these forums anymore.

they turn people off to the game because all people do is whine and moan about not getting their way. when you post, please stop including things like. "We ALL hate this blah blah blah blah whine whine." I do not agree with you.

you are playing a realistic, first person shooter set in the historical WWII city of Stalingrad, where well over a million men and women lost their lives.

Unlike WWI, which consisted of lots of bolt action rifles and long range combat, WWII was a much more urban conflict, which required the use of things called "Sub machine guns." AKA weapons that were mobile enough not to require long set up times, and configured for use of highly mobile infantry (cough assault cough).

the elitist snobs heading up a majority of the posts on this forum herald a day when all of the heathen axis swine shall curtail the use of SMG's and resort to fonder days of the bolt action rifle. (I removed the percentage cause I'm somewhat math stupid. :D)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU...

Also, Thank you.

Couldn't of put it better myself.. I wish these forums were an actual COMMUNITY again but its a bunch of little kids whining all day because they can't get instant gratification.. Sad thing is that these aren't kids mostly.. these are middle aged men acting like children.. It is astounding.

I'm with you on this man.. I miss the sense of community, now all this place is now is a whine fest.

And? No one is saying SMG shouldn't be there. Only that they were rare. 3 in one battalion? 7 in another? Compared to the hundreds of rifles?

I find it ironic that people talking about "community" are all people that joined this forum in the last month. You know, this forum has been active for over 6 years now, full of discussions, debates, and educated discussions. It's not like the community started when you people decided to register in the last two months ...

And the things we are "whining" about are issues that have been discussed in depth on this forum. So try reading up and doing your homework before calling us all morons.

Just what the hell is your point??? You think THAT somehow proves that the 6th Army received magical immunity from the Wehrmacht's order of battle for infantry formations???

You are not only insulting, rude, and whining about alleged whining, YOU ARE WRONG. If that wasn't taken off the net rather than in your hand, I'd tell you what you could wipe with your little piece of paper.

I never *****ed about the SMGs, as both sides have SMGs with upsides and downsides. It's the inclusion of a full-on assault rifle that pisses me off.

How would you feel if the Soviets got an AK-47 to use against the Germans with their MP40s and K98s? Of course, you probably wouldn't mind as for quite a few people it's all about winning, not having fun. You'd just join the Russian team and hose down Germans with glee knowing you're packing the superior firepower.

Heaven forbid people want an actual challenge and some semblance of fairness out of their games. Forget about all that stupid strategy or tactics bull, just pile onto the team with the superior firepower and farm easy kills while the other team desperately struggles to try and put up a decent fight.

I'm the one who brought up community... does it look like I have a 2011 join date? No.. I've been playing RO since it was released as a mod for ut2k4. I just wasn't in the forums during those times. I lurked.

I've seen a few of the threads with heavy, logical complaints accompanied by lovely youtube video's of overweight men holding weapons down to reduce recoil and such, yes.

And I'm certainly not calling those who can have a legitimate discussion about issues morons by any means. But from the perspective of a new player (myself), I find it horrible that 90% of the posts speak of the same issue. Rather than spam incessantly and make little effort to actually formulate a logical complaint, those posts tend to consist of "OMG OVERPOWERED. I'M GOING BACK TO MY BOLT."

It does make people sound like snobs. Sorry, that's my opinion. And hooray! This is a forum, where I can share it, hopefully in a thoughtful way. That's why my post didn't consist of two sentences. ;D

Yeah, that document could be a shipping manifest for all I can tell, hoss. I'm not seeing any reference to K98s, which leads me to believe that this has very little to do with squad breakdowns.

In fact, I'm almost certain this is a shipping manifest, or something for some kind of support battalion, as I'm seeing 75mm guns listed on there and almost nothing but LMGs and SMGs. This can't be anything relevant to unit composition...

What does that that list have to do with sub-machine guns?
The only machine guns I see on it are mg 34s and 42s, in heavy or light configurations.

well, elitists, i bid you gander at this.

:/

25% ? Who taught you math? You forgot to include 6 assault, 4 squad leaders 1 commander and 4 mgs. Thats 15 out of 32 and im not including semi riflement. Thats closer to 50% and atleast the "elitist snobs" know what they are talking about.

Actually, the sMG listed on those TO&E are not smg. They are heavy machine guns. Had to think in German.

I don't get it. Grabenstarke = "trench strength" and Meldung = "report."

We all know what the standard composition of a German Infantry squad and platoon was from 1942-Feb43.

Now, if you were to post a legitimate, official document setting forth order of battle for the 6th Army, you'd have an argument. Your document is listing 20, 37, 50, and 75mm anti-tank guns, along with panzerbuchsen. You can't tell if that document is unit specific or, if so, what unit it is, where it is deployed, etc.

That may very well be for a training unit for all we know, but it appears to me to be an ad-hoc anti-tank unit, probably thrown together for a specific defensive purpose (apparently defending a certain length of entrenchments with mg positions, anti-tank positions and supporting infantry?) somewhere (which I would guess would be North Africa, where Rommel was on the defensive and plenty of ad-hoc anti-tank units were likely thrown together constantly), and which has absolutely no relevance to the issue you're making a feeble attempt at "proving" to your satisfaction.

P.S.: Care to point me to a single reference to a submachine gun or assault rifle? I don't see any.

We shouldn't bother, he found something on the internet, had no idea what it was, and posted it thinking he's some military historian.

Yep, matter solved. Just looked at it again and saw reference to a Pz Jg(r) unit, meaning ANTI-TANK.

Well, ciedeeh (OP), you found yourself some report of troop and equipment strenght for an anti-tank unit with no references to standard infantry squad weapons. Here is your cookie. Here is your drool bucket. Back to the basement!
