This is a short list of things I would like to see incorporated into Rising Storm.
1. mortar and machinegun squads with Drivable Tanks and landing craft.

3. more detailed multiplayer campaign (for example, battle of Peleliu, Okinawa, iwo jima, Saipan, as they all were longer and more involved than just one area (cough* peleliu airfield map *cough)).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mel9s2IXKHg&list=PLpo7ay9kVV1AKjKmQdrCDM1ckHYg4k_Nn

Above is a video of the peleliu beach landing, as it represents a extra part of the battle.

4. battles in New Guinea and the Philippines, maybe add british and Australian troops?

All clips are from HBO's miniseries called the pacific. I do not own any of this content. All credit goes to HBO.

EDIT: Maybe we could see the return of jpanese spawn bunkers that were in the beta.

Mortars do exist, on the japanese side, making other mortars is a different story. You'd need a lot of time to make something like this.

Tanks, the Type-95 Ha-go was in beta, they didn't put it in for a reason.
The thread concerning the creation of tanks for RS can be found here:
http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=101768

I'm currently in the works of polishing the coding. The interior if we end up putting it in, will be textured, currently it's not. A majority of the tank is placeholders. HotW is currently working on a Sherman M4. IOM is working on two other tanks.

Twrecks is working on a joint project with me on a map based on the Makin Atoll. He's currently in the middle of working on a LCVP for the map itself, one that will not be static.

Psycho Pigeon in his recent Release build of the custom map KitaJima has tied in Static Meshes to the map to have the player spawn and ride one to the beach.

In terms of Maps, people tend to under appreciate them, Mappers deserve far more credit than they are given, on average it takes one person 100-250 hours to fully complete a map depending on complexity and scale. It's unlikely TWI will make many more maps.

Okinawa is currently being worked on and the author has just released its first version.
You're more likely to get the maps from mappers than from TWI itself.

As for the British & Australian troops, although I'd wouldn't mind seeing them, that's a HUGE task to pull off. Involving lots of coding weapons, roles, etc, not to mention the enormous task of modeling characters, weapons and finally animating them.

The Pacific? sounds familiar, how many years ago was this? Before Sopranos? After Band of Brothers?
OT but if you like RS and pacific front watch a WW2 film called "The Thin Red Line" from 1998 pure war movie about Gudalcanal, hollywood but good no fairytale ending, most philosophical poetical war film in history. My fav WW2 movie even better then Saving Private Ryan or Stalingrad. You will see.

EDIT: Heres the trailer, trust comrade Zakarro, this is not only the best war movie ever but one of the top 10 films of all times imho. late 90s was the golden age of modern cinema, this, Ryan, Matrix, Fight Club. All the best.

It's indeed true that mappers receive little to no credit, sometimes they even receive bashing. My version of StalingradKessel still lacks several things but it is in a playable and enjoyable state. However people do not like the fact that a stock map has been changed. Suddenly their beloved camping spot can be outflanked. Suddenly they can be fired upon from somewhere which was not possible in the original map. And especially the darkness. Despite the map already being highly brightened up, many still complain it's too dark. Some people really believe all fighting was done in broad daylight. If not, where are the NVG's?

And yet, I will definitely further my mapping adventures.

I would love to build a Shuri Castle map, also located on Okinawa. But I need to wait for my new machine first, as the current one has heating issues.
I still dream about re-working Krasnyi Oktyabr from RO Mod and Ostfront with some changes that were not possible in previous installments.

And of course a Siegfried Line map for HoTW. :)

Yeah, Mappers put many many many hours of work on a single map. I tried a long time ago to map but I was couldn't get very far. Much respect to mappers. So I always try to play customs, just hard to find good servers for them:(, After seeing all this work and talent , I might try my hand again at mapping and see how far I can get:) Keep mapping!:D
