This is a lil old but please i digress, spent ages into this.

First, Hi and i want to show you guys a new tactic i have in mind for killing floor, im slightly worried that it might already be in effect but nevertheless, this is partially common sense and also partially tactical, but requires good cooperation with your teammates, so this is perfect when your in a group that is communicating with one another. As for my expertise i have finished every single official map on HOE, but obviously ive had to do this for a long time to get them all, i call this tactic. Specific and Multiple Class Set Targets. (Or as a acronym : SAMCST) I will also include other useful tips.

As you probably know, each and every class has different advantages to each other, but these can be used to your advantage in ways that most people overlook. (Also if your also one of those people who use a weapon that doesn't belong to your class, WHY?!) Each and every class is designed to solve a specific problem, if it is patrirach or fleshpound or whatever your problem is.Every single team member is important, remember that and you will excell. :D

Sharp Shooter Your job isn't too significant in the earlier rounds unless your a low level(As this is the class that i recommend strongly you level first, as you can level this up, straight away) As soon as you hit Round 5, Scrakes will start showing up. This is when you should switch classes to Sharp Shooter, if you have saved any money get the crossbow, especially if you are a high level. (As for lower levels, i think you should move onto another class, and develop that further,if you haven't continue)The Crossbow can 1 Hit kill a Scrake and 2 Hit a FP on Hard (Remember this all depends on your class level.) If you are a lower level pick smaller targets like Husks or Sirens, which can in some cases prevent the entire team getting shattered. Keep going through the rounds until the boss wave, with the Patriarch focus on headshots and assist your medic with healing, you can also cover your teammates with smaller targets like clots, and its best you do so.

Kenny Commander said:
Commando You are the team's second most important person, as you are the one to take care of anything that is bothering the team, such as stalkers(MUST..LEVEL UP!),crawlers and anything that is going to waste your team's time. You should also watch for spawns, from rooftops and any kind of surprise spawn point, as your bullpup,AK47 or SCAR can take out anything coming out of the hole in a second, as you deal high DPS (not always the case in Suicidal and HOE, still better to shoot them while you can). However, your job is not damage dealing things like Scrakes or Fleshpounds, you can support but please do not charge Fleshpound or Scrakes, as ive had to switch weapons to have enough time to kill the scrake that is already chopping on me, on many occasions. If you really have to, use grenades to distance the enemy from yourself and remain constantly on the move. (Thats instinctive though :p)
The same counts for the patriarch, as i highly doubt that you can kill a patriarch by yourself anyway. Level also counts, if your generally high attack things like Husks and Sirens, this doesn't give you a excuse to not cover the test of your team from other smaller enemies. (Sirens die verrry fast when your a level 6 on hard :] )

Support Specialist You are the main damage dealer, third best in my opinion. You can kill absolutely loads of zeds dead with your hunting shotgun, and your AA12 does significant damage to the Fleshpound,Scrake and Patriarch. Infact i also recommend you to stock up on grenades if you cannot afford the hunting shotgun if your low level, as your range of fire is very important to being a Crowd Control Class (As in your class enables you to eliminate lots of enemies in a short space of time.), as for the AA12, it is the strongest weapon in the game and as a substitute you should use the hunting shotgun if you can't buy it. I doubt that you will be Crowd Controlling by Round 4 and i also highly doubt you will not have the hunting shotgun by then.(Unless your on difficulty Suicidal or Higher) Don't worry about the stalkers or crawlers, because the commando and firebug will cover you. Firebugs are good to assist you as they make it easier to get 1 hit kills on alot of zeds, so have one close if you can. For Patriarch rounds, stay defensive, while you are powerful you can be killed easily if you attack the Patriarch. Use map chokepoints to your advantages, things such as tunnels, doorways or stairways are all useful for doing lots of damage in a small place.

Field Medic You are without a doubt the team's most important class, without you everyone would forget to heal, sometimes it will oftern feel like your doing a chore, but keep in mind that your keeping the guys that are going to help you survive the zed onslaught, alive. Your role is similar to the commando, however as a field medic you don't have time to turn to assist further if your healing a team mate unless you have the medic gun, and most people aren't that good at medic gun mastery. Its hard because your team mates are constantly moving hence its hard to range heal unless you all have stationary positions, which i suggest you take up with the rest of your team. Use ZED time to get the injections right and you will be very good at that, and then your technically a weaker more useful commando. You are also really fast, so your also a good pair with a zerker when on the run, as you both have roughly the same speed, so you can heal him on the fly.

Kenny Commando said:
Berserker Your job is like the support specialist, except you can endure hit after hit from lots and lots of zed, which makes you the ideal crowd control class, to the point where if your high level you can hold off fleshpounds and scrakes, as long as you have a friendly medic on your back. (Although anything past hard, isn't the case, you are tough but on suicidal and HOE you just cannot risk it without covering support from your team mates, in particular the support specialist.) Your a good match with the support specialist and you and him are going to be best friends by the end of a game, trust me. You work best in a defensive posture, although ive known Berserkers where they would go charging all kinds of monsters and come back for healing now and then. Focus on smaller targets when crowd controlling, such as Clots,Gorefasts,Husks,Stalkers,Crawlers. Focus on those if your lower level, otherwise if your high level you can hack away at pretty much anything as long as your buddy the support specialist is watching you. For Patriarch waves you are completely useless unless your one of those funny lot who all switch to Berserker and charge him in with your chainsaws. (NOT RECOMMENDED!) Use chokepoints to your advantage and you will reign supreme (with your sidekick support specialist :p)

Firebug As a firebug you should focus on basically spamming the hell out of anything with your flames, in chokepoints.(Spamming was a bad word, i mean damage) Assist the commando in cleaning out any tiny little bugs that are bothering the team. Unlike most of the team, you are the most flexiable when it comes to leveling as you can set anything on fire and it will count to you leveling. Use your AOE (Area of Effect) to light a entire mob of zeds on fire before assisting the commando with whatever troubles he may have. As for attacking large zeds, like fleshpounds and scrakes you can probably forget soloing them as there are better people for the job than you. However, this doesn't stop you from assisting by lighting them on fire and causing them grief. Whatever you do, do not assume that your a assault type class, your class is basically a support class, you should not go alone or else you will find it hard to layer down large groups of enemies. The Patriarch wave will be hard on you, firebug but no matter you should support and ignite the patriarch whenever possible as igniting him can also help to figure out where he is.

Finally..

Demolition As a demolition you are of very little use until about 2/3s of the way through the game, you should start killing groups of enemies and also use splash damage to your advantage, but don't abuse it as improper use will get you killed at lower levels and wound you at higher. Use grenade launchers to assist the crowd controllers and focus on large groups of enemies other than large enemies, because your firing rate is too slow to account for the damage you are taking and in exactly the same case as firebug, there are better people who can do that. The patriarch round is where you truely shine as you are the most useful and can actually 1 hit kill a patriarch with tripmines, so use them in a suitable way and you will be given the fruits of your labours.
Thank you for reading this small article on SAMCST and i hope you apply it to your ingame skill as i believe it makes the difference between a shoddy team and good team,to be as fluent towards each other as possible. If you can provide any constructive critism then i highly appreciate it as i would like to make this tactic as flawless as possible. Also I know some of this is common sense, but not enough common sense is around these days. Look me up on steam if you wanna play, as im always up for it when im not busy.

Cheers!

Only thing bothering me is that you said that if you can't buy a HS, stock up on grenades. Currently, a full load of grenades and an HS cost the same for a support.

But I'm just nitpicking.

V3nn3t You are joking right, or You play normal right? What kind of convenience You are talking about? If zerker is capable of kiting crowds and Big Guys, then why not? If skill allows him to manage crowd and fp/sc same time, then why not? I have always thought that zerker is that type of class that can wander off attracting zeds to himself, supporting team that way. I don't know what Your tactic is, but If You have better one please share.

I backed up a zerk as commando the other day on HoE westlondon, it worked out really well. I'd hose crawlers and anything that got near him, and if he got surrounded, I'd drop a grenade at his feet. Using an M4 and AK, it was awhile before I needed to reload.
