[Game] What did the Steam xmas sales taught you?

i only bought one game during the sale because the others were not low priced enough or they weren't interesting. what i did learn though is to exercise caution when a game is priced too low. i bought theater of war 2:kursk for 5 dollars and boy do i regret it. the game isn't optimized at all and it's sputtering and near unplayable. the path finding issues finally made me turn off the game, perhaps forever.

This. It taught me that you can have a week-long sale of the past years' games without having a must-buy in it. :p

I only ended up buying Mirror's Edge because it was extremely cheap while being somewhat recent... and I played it for two hours since.

The rest: either not at all interesting or not cheap enough.
