Red Orchestra and its mods seem to finally be dead more often than not, and the quality of gameplay has certainly gone down hill. So is there anything else out there?

I thought about COD: World at War, but it just seems so arcady from youtube videos I've watched of the multiplayer.

Are there any good WW2 themed games out there right now? Doesn't have to be fps, but realism is a big plus!

Forgotten hope for bf2 is great I'm not sure if anyone still plays it though. There is also resistance and liberation mod for hl2, I didn't like it when I tried it but it may have improved.

As for commercial ww2 games there arent many fps's out there. Try men of war or CoH if you like rts.

Forgotten Hope 2 (BF2 mod)

Project Reality (BF2 mod)

Bad Company 2 Hardcore Servers

ArmA II (although I'd wait for Operation Arrowhead)

Resistance and Liberation (early stage but still good although no one really plays)

NeoTokyo (HL2 tactical scifi mod)

...and for realistic medieval combat

Mount & Blade: Warband

Men of War.

13e on steam, the most realistic tactical game. Great singleplayer, great multiplayer, features italians(SP only), japanese(MP only) germans, soviets, british and americans.

You can use "direct control", giving you control over single person/tank on the battlefield from 3rd person, using WASD to move and mouse to aim/fire/throw grenades.

Has a great physics engine, realistic penetration physics and well...

until RO:HoS comes out...I'm playing RO. And DH. Actually more DH than RO the last couple of weeks....the 'quality of play' issue is definitely a factor there. Seems like the active DH servers have more of the hard-core RO nuts (like me) lately.

One thing you might want to consider on Friday nights is the -Bolt- server. That's a regular weekly 'bolt action only' game, the maps have all been modded to only allow bolt-rifle class. Great fun there, and a good way to polish your bolt action skills.

Tic tac toe. And some other obscure card games I'm sure no one has ever heard about 'round these parts.

Well, hell. That's just crazy. Can't wait to play some of my favourite maps in DH with that feature.

CODWAW was not that bad. The campaign was fun. But i was tired of people calling airstrike on our spawn points in multiplayer. Especially when you don't spawn in buildings.

MoW $2.50 on D2D! I've never bought a D2D game. Is there any special software I need for D2D or can I just download the game and install as if I installed off the disc?
