We all know that games cannot see seasonal updates without some form of compensation. Obviosuly paid DLC weapons is causing an outlash of 'you-said-you'd-never' "critiques" but let's try and be problem solving rather than fuel the salt fire and say where we'd rather invest our actual dollars to promote the game.

All but one of the items on your poll are already options. If they supported the current level of content (or more) either alone or in some combination currently we would not be looking at the new route.

To address another point of the OP. The "you-said-you'd-never'". We specifically said "we may do this", but we hope not to when we started talking about ZedConomy and Crate and Key systems (and it is enshrined in the ZedConomy FAQ).

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond Yoshiro.
The point of the poll isn't to make pressure but perhaps to show support of the systems or ideas already in place.

I personally buy characters and costumes with the idea of supporting future development in mind. I bought Mrs. Foster & Bad-Ass Santa although neither appeal to my taste. I got the Deluxe Edition to unlock Skully. I would probably buy any other new character too. I bought the Wasteland Bandit armor because it looked cool. I bought roughly 10-12 keys but stopped because the loot box system doesn't appeal to me and, like in a casino, I had set an amount to spend and the return wasn't enough to keep playing the chance game.

I would have bought Classic Foster and Bobby Briar and maybe the MARK-7 suit if that purposed sale had them offered at 50% reduced price... Not because I play those characters but out of support of the game. However I never saw any discounts after the sale was announced.

I personally would buy a $5 character alternative costume set for my favorite characters in a heartbeat.

With this Weapon Paid DLC idea I don't feel enticed. In fact if I buy it it would be to tell my friends who still play to not bother getting it because they can just access it through me. The idea that this will sell better than new characters or costumes also seems questionable because it is a niché market based on players who primarily play the weapon's Classes or who want to support development and have the full arsenal.

What I'm trying to say is why are you abandoning the other methods before a real statistic can be drawn? If sales are there at all then produce more of a variety of product to determine a design. Mrs. Foster & Badass Santa didn't sell well? Create a whole new character based on a character archetype that's not yet represented and save some cash by not buying a big name voice actor. Box Knight, Biohazard suite, Chickenator & Pajama packs didn't sell well? How about something more serious like SWAT Riot gear, Military Uniforms for land/sea/air. Classic Foster & Bobby Briar not bringing in enough dosh? There still loads of other top pick characters: Skully (Military days or Halloween costumes), Ana (profi Photographer, French maid, mega punk), Alberts (vicar, bishop, porch-sitting grandpa), Anton (1940's Civilian clothes, winter gear, deep wood camo, sniper). I feel like the purchasable content that's been produced doesn't appeal to everyone and that the ideal of paid weapon dlcs is just a step deeper into a similiar, but much more fan deterrent, direction.

If fans are not interested in the current products that you really see no other alternative other than paid weapon dlcs then maybe it is just time to stop work on KF2 and start a Kickstarter for the development of KF3.

Truth be told : anything as long as its worth the price.

That's the main issue I have with both the upcoming and already released DLCs. I find them way too expensive. 5 bucks for a skin, even character-specific, is just way too much. Same goes for 7-8€ for a character.

I get that everything needs work, work that I cannot even imagine since I haven't done anything related to the creation of a video game.

But I, personally, don't really feel easy knowing I could spend half the price of the game for two weapons...

I would actually pay for full Commando/Swat rebalance, making a difference between Ar's and Smg's, fixing Thompson and adding AR15 for Swat. I know that TWI would never do that, but I vote for all OP's options because I don't mind to keep investing in the game, but new weapons is just... eh.

If you trying to sell weapon on gimmick, not P2W, it needs to be a really good one.
Revolver is made for people who still wanna play gunslinger but has problems with accuracy.
Scuffed lightsaber looks like somesing that comes from MMOFPS like Counter Strike Online: fire damage, "charge super attack with kills". And I don't really mind that, but if you wanna go that route might as well go for F2P, and while at it make actual lightsaber. Yes, I know, copyright and stuff, but CSO somehow pull that off, why can't you?

Also agree with liamtranzig about shop being unappealing to players. No discounts, not even regional prices. Weapons from first KF was sold through Steam, and I was much better.
Same with costumes/characters - there is not much of them to have a choice. People keep asking for classic or realistic military outfits, same with characters.
I like Mrs. Foster but I can't be bothered with Santa. He is seasonal character, using him outside christmas is just feels wrong, it's still unclear if it's the same guy from first KF, because using him outide christmas was atleast understandable.

I still think the mechanics behind the micros are a big part of the issue. Regardless of how many items you put into the store, the preview system is limited and sometimes wrong and the organization of it all only gets worse the more items they add. The average value of items in the market is another problem. Why spend $2.50 on a key for a single item when you can buy every version of every item in the lootbox for 1-2 dollars on the marketplace because their value is 3-9 cents each? A lot of things can affect that but I do know that the game is very forgiving on how many and what kinds of items it gives you for free. Perhaps they've been too generous on that front?

Plenty of games make tons of money with microtransactions and you're telling me KF2 doesn't make enough to cover four updates a year? It's gotta be the implementation. It's gotta be possible.

Exactly why I didn't say anything about loot boxes in the original post. Their unlock price is far too high and these loot box bundles are just doubling down on a poor quality/cost ratio.

Honestly the Vault Dosh reward system could be overhauled into seasons and the starting cosmetics could be announced with it's release with a pay-wall to unlock participation in the next season. The pay-wall would just unlock your ability to choose Vault Crate #2 and be able to earn and unlock all the cosmetics with time and good luck. The automation of X Dosh = Vault Crate #1 would need to be changed into a choice system of course.

I also think a clear fundraiser approach could work. Each season TWI could publish a clear roadmap where there are financial tiers to unlocking content. The goals would be reached via Market sales & donations (when there are still inclined people). This would clearly mean a larger preparation
on TWIs part but any leftover content could be used for the mid to low tier unlocks of the next season.

Ex:
Tier Zero: --> Seasonal Zeds & 5 Challenges- Seasonal Cosmetic

Tier One: 2K>Official Community Map & Seasonal Tickets/Cosmetics

Tier Two: 3K>Objective Mode Added to Burning Paris & New (Free) Weapon

Tier Three: 6K>New Official Map from TWI

Tier Four: 12K>New Boss: the Matriarch

Tier Five: 15K>New Character Unlocked for everyone with an optional $5 Expansion to his/her cosmetics in the Marketplace

**I obviously have no idea what financial costs are for the production of such assets but the Tier/Goal balancing would be TWIs job.

Is it possible to pay for a Perk point rework? (because of the programming time)
Buff the skills in the trees no one uses. Or buff the passive bonuses to give more variety (eg having a demo in the team could improve explosive damage for the whole team), like a passive buff to everyone.
Or as suggested elsewhere copy borderlands, and have 6 skill points to place in any order.
