Sorry to nitpick, but there's a well-documented (yet still un-repro'ed) hit detection bug. I've gotten the exact opposite reaction from someone that killed me: "Sorry dude, I was so lucky! that was bullsh*t!"
Yes, well theres a difference between "Ahg this hit detection sucks!" and "OMFG YOU NOOB LOSER I TOTALLY SHOT YOU. *calling people homosexuals, general raging."
I've noticed you can't type 'np' or 'forgive' or anything for that matter until you respawn, which can sometimes be a good while. So the TK'er saying 'sorry' has to wait a long while to see if they've been forgiven or not. And when they have been forgiven there's no text to say 'Harley has forgiven JohnDoe' to let them know.

Stop being so condescending on younger players and CoD. I am not a fan of CoD either but I try not to bash it one of my friend play it and I don't understand how he can like that game when he has been gaming for as long as me (15 years at least) . I showed him some Ro2 video and he said it's not my type of game but he did not start ranting about how he hates ro2.

After playing for awhile yesterday, I'm guessing we have a full blown jerk invasion into RO.. Or maybe because it was a holiday, a bunch of schoolkids were able to play.
Seriously... First map i get into, my squad leader was having it out with some guy who thought he wasn't using the mortars right. There were all sorts of sex-with-your-mom comments and stupidity going on forever and ever, to the point that people were saying "guys can we just play?" and then finally, people just leaving.
Then, I get into Grain Elevator for the first time. I have to admit, I was a bit overwhelmed (the map is awesome, but complex at first). I was shooting down a stairwell at a Russian when a teammate popped into the frame, bam, teamkill. Before I could say anything, I get "you stupid idiot." nice. Guess there is no need to apologize at that point, is there?
So next I play barracks, I'm upstairs moving from room to room and i get teamkilled by someone, on the run, hipshooting. No big deal. Believe me, I am a forgiving person. But before I can even type "np", I get "thanks for running in front of me."

This kind of crap went on all day. I'm going to start taking notes on servers and stuff so I know which ones to avoid I guess, but so far, they all seem like daycare.
There certainly is a larger influx of trolls and kids into this game compared to the mod and RO1.
The environment was more relaxed, people were more friendlier as well as helpful to one another.
Now it reminds me of BF:BC2, with people insulting one another, calling people's mom's certain names, tossing out the F*g & Gay remarks, b*tching about people playing a certain way, not playing as they'd expect, taking a class they wanted, complaining about a weapon sucking, this map sucks, you suck, he sucks, she sucks, everywhere a suck suck.....

For the most part, I just ignore most of the comments on the screen and just keep playing.
I suppose it's to be expected.... and to be truthful, I did expect it.... but it's still annoying.
I think the best comments I see relate to people saying things like "WTF, this is BS... I'm sick of running all the way back from spawn!"

Yeah unless someone says sorry, I never NP them.... they can have their dishonour. I usually say sorry if I do though.
And I never NP people who see me up close, I don't shoot at them, I start to walk away and then they shoot me..... even when my character screams "Stop Shooting I'm on your team" or whatever, they keep shooting me and then I die.

I'm almost not surprised that the game has this many kids and trolls. It's certainly much more popular (As far as the size of the fanbase and the advertising) than RO1 and thus it attracts more people. And with more people come more idiots, double that with the new generation of "gamers" growing up with Call of Duty and Halo and the mentality of "OMG I SHOT YOU FIRST YOU *Homosexual insult, mother insult, general swear word, word that doesn't exist*" they bring in and you've got yourself a full blown sh**fest. It'll die down and it'll be back to good gameplay with the occasional troll or child, who'll quickly get kicked for doing what they do best.
I had someone from an - apparently notable - RO:OST clan badmouthing our server and our community's level of skill last night.
I was really disappointed that a RO:OST veteran like that would be so disparaging of new players, especially those catering a bit more towards realism as we do on our custom-difficulty server.
I also noted that despite his big mouth he was fairly low on the scoresheet.

I generally reply back to them once with something like "You know, if you played the game more than you b*tched, you'd probably do a lot better."
Then of course they reply back like the Tazmanian Devil

To be fair, it does get annoying when people don't employ situational awareness to the blatantly obvious guy aiming at the blatantly obvious enemy in front of him. So yeah, that makes me that guy to rage when I keep raking up TKs as people don't pay attention to their surroundings.
There's a difference between the guy running being an idiot and the guy firing being an idiot. In your situation I can relate to it. I can't freaking put a number on how many times retarded teammates have wandered in front of me AS I was firing my weapon (Across various games, of course)
Yes, I frequent the 7th Cav server quite regularly. Unfortunately, earlier today was terrible player wise... one guy spamming chat with obscenities about campers and another making continuous mouth-fart noises over mic. There were a couple 7th Cav guys on, but I assume they didn't have the power to ban. How bad they must have felt not being able to get rid of the nonsense on their own server.
Haha, yes. These are the guys whose 'clan practices' are composed of ROTC kids yelling at you and forcing you to march in formation while left/right facing etc. It's all just a power trip I suppose.
Indeed, it does happen.... when I am prone in a building in Barracks as an MG, I know my team is around me and I don't fire unless I see an enemy and I have a clear shot.... usually a few team mates run down the hallway and enemies round the corner and start shooting at him.... I can't help and I won't fire because he's blocking my shot and I'd rather die than to TK. Usually they know I'm still there and will move left, right or in a doorway so I have a clear shot.
Other times, nobody is in the hallway, a german or two round the corner, I start unloading rounds at them, and then three team mates walk over my head, down the hall and into my line of fire.
Happened a lot in RO1, but so far it hasn't happened yet in RO2.
I'm just glad RO2 is seeing such a nice boom, because it's one of those gems that sometimes get overlooked and a-lot of people miss out on a great game. When BF3 comes out ill be playing that to, but RO2 has it's own unique feel no other game has that will keep everyone and I coming back time and time again.

I think a-lot of people are a-lil short fused because of CTD's, and coming from games like COD or BC2 where tk is always off it's a new experience and perhaps always feels intentional.
Once the game gets ironed out, and releases with everything I think things will get better.

I had my fair share of jerks today:
- Guy talking non stop "hello, anyone there? hello hello hello"
- Guy making farting sounds non-stop.
- Tk'ed on spawn.
- Again.
- And again.
- The three above were consecutive, i quit after that.

You should see the ban list the 29th has, becomes bigger every day, allot of idiots out there that just won't live by simple server rules like, no tking, no shooting in spawn, no foul language, but i guess that is a bit too much to ask these days i think...
You don't realize how many times people get tk'd. I've been tk'd three times by different people in a consecutive order. I tk time to time but it seems like people are color blind for the most part
