Today I have released a Carentan Causeway map for Heroes of the West mod. This map is not a Darkest Hour Europe '44-'45 remake, but based off a real place and represents a Carentan-Saint Come-du-Mont highway battle and includes Fallschirmjäges.
It is a B1 version and heavy WIP, so I need a detailed feedback and suggestions from the full server, hosting it , as well as from people, who are playing it with bots.

I'll have this map operational on TWI's Crucible shortly. Please try it out and provide the author with feedback in the design thread.

No thread in "Level Design" yet and I dont really see a reason to create one, let people discuss it here for some time.

Very well. Load test and execution went ok. But while the bots spawned ok, the player character did not spawn at all. Tried this twice. Can other server operator confirm this?

Hmm I had no problems with respawn, playing it with bots, so maybe its something on your end. But still, we need another server operator to check the map to confirm it.

The Mod updated on 6/6/2016, are you running the latest version?

Well you're doing it client side, so if anything it's your fault not his, he's just adding the map to the server. Tried it PIE worked fine, didn't work when I tried to boot up the game with it.
Cap wise it seems fine, the flanks however seem a bit wide.
Playing it wise, there's little to no cover whatsoever, and would play out horribly on a 32+ pop server.
Bunch of aesthetic remarks:
Too much fog, better lighting is needed, Dark Dirt and the grass should be changed.
Terrain surrounding trenches needs to be blended.
A few BSP errors.

Yeah, its a list I'll need to work with more focused in B2. There are not much cover what so ever in DH version, but I am going to sort that out too.
I dont really get whats wrong with the fog, for me it looks like a good outcast weather, but if you can show me more detailed example, I'll tweak it to make better.
Grass was a placeholder, while Dirt taken from Carentan.
BSP building will be made again from a scretch.
Also I dont know how to blend terrain surrounding trenches yet. Maybe I do know, just not now.

Tested the map again. Loads and executes properly, but no human player ever spawns. The version of HotW is not a factor. I've got 8 other maps that would cease functioning on the spot if the version was not correct. I've seen this behavior before in other new betas. It's a known issue and easily correctable, but I can't remember what causes it. Is it a collision issue I wonder?

Well it may happend if the volume is higher than RS PLayerStart, but there are nothing like this on the map.

I'm a little stunned that no other server has tested or placed this map in the lineup. But if anyone can strain themselves to do so, I'm sure we can verify if this phenom is real or memorex.

[40-1]Mord have told me that he will test the map tomorrow and then will toss it in on a full server.
