Congratulations you can change the light settings...i dont wanna be mean but as a mapper myself I kinda find it offensive that you took the devs work changed the lighting and then called it your "first map ever"

We all have to start somewhere.

So make a floor, a ceiling and 4 walls...
call that your first map, changing some lighting settings is hardly a start

I dont mean to be an ***, but as you well know making a map takes many many many many hours of dedicated and frustrating time. Taking someone elses work, changing the lighting and then taking all the credit is hardly someones "first map" in my opinion.

I would have been far my impressed if he had done the simple ceiling, floor and 4 walls.

You are sounding quite like an ***.

Thanks for this release, maybe you could edit the map up some more and change the distance fog colours to make it look more like night

It'd do you some good to read this.

Nice release, but like the others said do change the fog color, as right now it doesn't match. A nice dark blue would suit it quite nicely, I think.

As you know im new at this so could somebody tell me how to change the fog color?

Sure !

Search for the "Zone Info" actor which looks like
zone_info_actor.jpg

when you find the one in the outside area of london (not in church or trader shops, it should just be somewhere up in the sky) Press F4 to get the properties list, and then go to the distance fog rollout, and mess with the RGB values :)

I like it! Looks pretty cool killing specimens in the night. I personally use COD Radiant; so with this game i'm determined to learn the unreal editor 3.0 lol. I'm british so I would enjoy making a shopping centre or something haha... but there again there are no shopping centre models so i'd have to think more.

Well, making a map doesn't involve changing the light settings and calling it your own.

If you completely re-built the level from scratch and added your own touch to it then that is what being a mapper is all about. Not trying to be mean :)

I'm starting work soon on a Charing Cross underground level, why don't you read the mapping tuts in your Steam folder?

A night time version of West London (My first map ever)

So to make your own map all you need to do is grab a default map included with KF. Change the lights around and then you can call it your own and upload it somewhere and pass it around as your own work?

Wow, that sounds like some serious time saving in the 'how long does it take to create a map' department.

"My first attempt at modifying a map" wouldn't have been so misleading.

I reworked a certain mods map before the new Beta of the mod ever released. It included changing the time of day to night, adding new ambient lighting and objects, dust color and what not. Of course I waited until the Beta released, but I still considered it my version of their map. I don't see anything wrong with working over another person's map with their consent (do we buy TWI's consent for stock maps?). Just be sure to press F6 while in the editor and (where you would usually put map description) give original credit to the original designer, and then "Modified by INSERT GENERIC MAPPER NAME HERE"
