Weren't the elite assault weapons supposed to be rare hero weapons?

And no, I'm not trolling here I'm asking a serious question. Also what's the point of the MP40 if you can get a superior Mkb42 instead? The AVT on the other hand gives assault troops the long range capabilities which they shouldn't have.

Is this a bug?

I thought this too.

It was the prevailing opinion that the MKB and AVT were reserved for heroes only.

While TWI has never denied or confirmed this (to my knowledge). They have posted in threads about this and said nothing to make us believe they were going to be THIS common.

This needs some work. The availability of those weapons is really warping the game into something it is not. There needs to be maybe three on a team of 32, not 16. Bolties just got destroyed in this game.

Nobody uses bolt actions even in the 32 vs 32 in this game.

Tripwire need to reduce the amounts of other classes and make it so the majority of your team are riflemen because this many automatics makes the gameplay horrible.

Played a bit this morning, it was completely retarded.
Everybody and their mother was walking around toting an MKB42, because they are so readily available.
Multiple classes can have it, and people die often so there are plenty of them lying around for others to pick up too.
It is no exaggeration to say that over half of the German team had the MKB at some point, and even several Russians were walking around with it.
I mean, what the hell? We were told it was a RARE weapon, something to use by Heroes or someone similar, so they would be rather limited like the sniper rifle.
Despite the certain additions to RO2 i dont like i had fun up until now, but this... this is just so messed up i cant find the words for it.

I agree with everyone else that there are WAY too many MKB's and AVT's on the field. That said, I absolutely love the way they both sound.

Tripwire is catering to a larger audience, but I'm fairly sure this wasn't their intention. Let's just hope they balance it out soon.

Huh... I was wondering what everyone was running around with. I played a lot of Russian rifleman last night and noticed that every German had some sort of automatic weapon. It was rare seeing one with a bolt or semi auto rifle.

I'm sure Tripwire is looking into this, because I definitely feel like we're getting attacked by an army from the future.

Guys, I'm pretty sure most people who play ordered the DDE and as we all know that gives you the Mkb42. Obviously when you're first given the opportunity to try a new weapon, especially one that should have been unlocked on day one, you're going to try it. I personally don't think you'll see the same amount of people using the weapon after the novelty of using something new wears off. Let's see how often it's used after a week before jumping to conclusions about how many people use it.

It's a nice weapon, but after I tried it, I don't see how it's any better up close than the MP40 or PPSH and it certainly isn't as good as the bolt actions or semi auto rifles at a distance, it jumps too much when firing. The MP40 certainly doesn't have as much kick and the PPSH can put down a hail of gunfire that can't be matched, especially if you get the drum for it.

I think the amount of assault slots should go up, but the squad leader amount should be the same and be the only ones allowed to carry the upgraded weapons (outside of hero units or whatever). In that regard we'll see a whole lot more MP40's and the like while still offering an assault class. This would probably be difficult to do in some regards, but I personally don't care what people use... I just like seeing variety. I think I'm the only person I saw with an MP40 last night and I actually have the DDE. I like both guns for different reasons.

It's much better. At least I find it to be very good. Better than any other weapon in any situation.

But that's not my biggest gripe.

It;s just the fact that over half your team on in a 20 man team is able to pick a prototype weapon.

Not to mention all the people picking up one.

I use bolts religiously, all the way through beta i stuck with them as i saw them as a nice challenge compared to smgs etc.

I'm the same way, a staunch Russian Rifleman. It's getting a bit hard to compete with all the metal flying around right now.

I believe the only class that should get the unlocks is the Veteran Riflemen. Makes a lot more sense then giving it to every assault, squad leader, and commander.
