I have an idea that you could include a setting for which gun would come up first when you press a shortcut key. The weapon system in Killing Floor I found is similar to Half Life 2, yet neither game has offered an option to switch which weapons come up first.

For example, lets include two weapons: Handcannon and 9mm Tactical. When you have both these weapons, and press the shortcut key for pistols, (2) the Handcannon will come up first. My idea is that there should be an options panel somewhere that can change the order of which guns come up when the corresponding shortcut key is pressed.

If not, or also, you can include an option to "bind" keys to certain weapons. For example, the 'U' key could draw up the 9mm Tactical, and so on.

Thanks, :D

I understand what you are saying. Personally I'm ok spending the .01 seconds to hit the number key a second time to draw up the desired weapon. This is my opinion on Killing Floor since no weapon slot will have more than 2 weapons in it, (not sure about what lvl 6 support might be able to carry). Half life would benefit because it can have many weapons under the same slot.

Well if you take the machette, axe, chainsaw and the katana as a support + knife.... it can be quite long to get to one of your weapon ^^

Its a pain when you have pipebomb, mp7 and some other slot 4 weapon... I once died because it chose pipebomb instead of scar, because I dropped it on my feet when I was surrounded.

The only time I have a problem with this is if I am out of HC ammo and I have zeds RIGHT ON ME and I tap '2' and I get empty weapons. I'll click the mouse several times, realize I have empty weapons, and have to tap '2' again. Often, it is too late then.

That bug needs to be fixed.

I like Left 4 Dead's style of weapon scrolling, the wheel mouse automatically switches to the next/previous gun so you don't have to scroll to the gun you want then click. I find myself withdrawing the wrong weapons in the worst possible times.

Eh, I'm ok with their current weapons drawing system. It's why if I choose to get backup weapons, I make sure there's never 2 in the same slot. I usually run out of weight blocks anyways.

Like if I were to get katana, it would take up 3/14 free weight blocks (keep in mind that nades automatically take up 1 block). Then I buy something like AA or SCAR or M14 or M32, all of which are pretty heavy. I believe the range is 7-10 blocks or so...not sure. But they're heavy.

I honestly don't see the problem with pipes in slot 4. Players who can hold off strategic points will usually have set all pipes down by the time the wave starts.

Actually you can change the order of when weapons come up, but not 9mm/handcannon or melee/knife.

Weapons show up in the order you acquire them. So for example a medic buys MP7 first then crossbow. If he's holding out a knife and press 4, the MP7 will come up first and crossbow only after you press 4 again.

If you want to rearrange it the other way, what you can do is drop the MP7 then pick it up again. The game will now remember your order as the other way around.

But obviously you can't do this trick with knife or 9mm, as you can't drop them.
