Weapon select texture question

I'm looking to introduce a new texture for a weapon select path to a custom weapon in trader.

Anyone know how to make one from scratch and what properties it has to be visible in trader and hud?

I get a blank white square with my file so I have substituted a TWI texture in the meantime..but I'd like to figure this out. I tried importing .tga, at proper sizing for sdk, added it to my code and new package, only a white square shows?! Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

If its a white square, it sounds like you didnt do something with the alpha channel. White is completely solid while complete black is (of course) full transparency. Look at the properties of a vanilla texture and compare it to yours.

As for making the icon from scratch, you can always retexture your model with a white/grey color scheme and render the model flat, and use that render as your in game icon.

I figured it might be a setting within SDK itself. I assume I can edit the texture using texture editor in sdk. I appreciate your suggestion and I will try and find that setting. Thanks!;)
