I think the tactical knife thing would use a little balancing.
With the stats you posted, basically, you get a knife attached to your Pistol, so you don't need to switch weapons, and also this knife comes at the same speed and DOUBLE strenght as the original one. Which obviously also can't shoot.

Maybe the Tactical knife could be a little slower (something like because it is harder to wield it with your left and also the positioning as armrest for the 9mm makes for a little cumbersome swing)

In any case, imho, the tactical knife should be the same strenght as the original at the most, maybe even do less damage considering you're wielding it lefthanded...

I just say I would like to see some downside to getting an instant knife attack with your 9mm, otherwise the knife will only be used as a running steroid replacement anymore...

Concept 2, make the heads explode instead of a clean cut, and it would work just fine. Leave the tactical knife to CoD series. :p

It would be awesome to ZED-time melee a zed with the shotgun then shoot him in the face like a bad-***.

Edit: I would also like to swing the lever action as a baseball bat. xD

Dude awesome idea and great work! I'm a bigger fan of the 9mm flashlight swap out for the non flashlight (always thought that pistol in the left hand looked freaking awesome)

Although... purely form a fanboy point of view, instead of going CoDMW2 quick stab style with the tactical knife, go for a more MGS 3/4 style with more of a swipe than a quick stab.

But hell thats ones guys opinion... I just hate CoDMW2 :p

After doing some testing with the mutators, these are the only fixes I can think of.

1. Make the pistol whip animations on both quick melee and alternative melee smoother, they look a extremely choppy, even for a quick pistol whip.

2. Fix the lighting on the 9mm with Tac-knife.

3. The animations don't show up on 3rd person, maybe add animation for that as well?


Those are the only suggestions, everything else seems good.

I love concept two. the shotgun melee is awesome! :)

looks like it would be very satisfying to use when you have a clot on you and you don't want to switch to a pistol/knife and dont want to waste your ammo on only one clot

Cause I've seen you shoot rockets without sights. You must have noticed this is a very good way to kill yourself.

And when the history of its glory is written, ZEDs shall only be a footnote to the magnificence of the LAWhammer.

wow , absolutely amazing ,great job man

only one thing for the shotgun, could it be done so the flashlight stays and melee RMB, since i really don't think anyone is using iron sights for shotgun anyway :D

you put the .uc files into the killing floor system folder

C:/program files>steam>steam apps>common>killing floor>system

then either host a game or solo and turn on the mutator

Thanks for the quick reply, I got it now.

This is a cool concept. It really increases the usefulness of the 9mm. One thing that bothered me was the decap, both with the shotty and 9mm. I feel like the animations shown don't have the potential to decap specs. I don't know if this is possible but, if you could remove the decap animation or change the gore lvl for the melee attack so it would just kill the spec w/o the decap, even when you "headshot" with the melee attack. The attack animations themselves are very nice.

I don't know if this was intentional, but when using the 9mm w/knife the 9mm's aim was slightly shakey. At any rate, I like it. Since your aimming with one hand, it makes sense to have somewhat of a more "unsteady" aim.

Though this concept has been used in other games, it fits well with KF. Whats nice is this doesn't feel like a carbon copy of another melee system I've played before. I feel you've made it your own, and placed it nicely in the KF world.
