Title says it all. Just wondering what kind of weapon combos people use. Sure, a combination I think is weird might seem perfectly "duh, of course use that combo" to another player, but still. There are some that I've been thinking about, but I've never actually used in game. There are some that'll probably appear downright weird or ineffective. Eh, whatever. I just want to see what kind of combos we all use.

I mean, there are "standard" combos, like sword+axe+LAR for Berserker, or handcannon+crossbow or M14+LAR for sharp, or SCAR+AK for Commando (and so on), but I'm wondering about other combinations, especially off-perked ones.

Commando
Recently, I've been using SCAR+crossbow, albeit on hard. Can reasonably take on anything short of the Fleshie, and can clear out screened Husks and Sirens.

I also like to use SCAR+M32. SCAR for trash, and M32 for FP assistance or when you need to clear out a hall. The improved reload speed helps quite a bit. Scrakes can be a pain, but that's what your Sharp and Zerker buddies are for.

Sharpshooter
I've been thinking about LAR+M32 for a while. Theoretically can take on anything. 9mm for Gorefast and below. Husk to Scrake is meat for LAR, and FP can be taken out by careful use of the M32 and some hand grenades. I haven't actually used this in-game, but one of these days I'll try.

Berserker
On pretty much all reasonably open maps, I use axe+M32. First saw it on Scary Ghost's video way back in... I think Christmas 2010. I don't know why I like it so much, but it's just so... fun. Sucks in close quarters though.

Commando:
AK+Shotgun/Bullpup/LaR for early game whichever I can find first if I'm at a high difficulty map I'd go with Bullpup+AK, then AK+M32; can take on most specimen for good measure.

Sharp:
a high level sharp can take out FP from a distance with LaR or Xbow. M32 can do some assistance but not worth risking at higher difficulties imo. I never tried M32 but tried M79 with Xbow and it worked nice.

I use a few different set ups. I always start by selling crossbow and grab kevlar, HC, LaR trio on the second wave, then I head on to M14+LaR if team knows where to hole up or M14+DHC for total mobility.
Most sharps still prefer Xbow+HC set up.
If you wanna try a really different thing try buying AK+M14, you'll be dealing a nice amount of headshot damage with ease.

Berserker:
Mark my words "Scary is crazy". I even seen him using Katana+Flamer as medic in a HoE westlondon video, and it was quite nice.
I prefer M79/LaR+Axe+Katana. LaR or M79 for ranged specimen or flock of crawlers from a far. Axe for big targets and katana for mobility and chopping the horde down.

If you really wanna try something crazy try AA12+Katana (will be bought by perk discount ofc) laugh like a histerical maniac as you chop down the horde. Also I do believe Flamer+Katana setup is nice for Berserker as much as Firebug.

If I'm playing Beserker on Hard and below I usually use the Katana+crossbow (or ninja, as it's been refered to). This kit also doubles as my patty fight kit. Above hard it's almost always axe+lar+katana for beserker. I have also used AA-12+Katana a beserker and it can be quite effective. I have also done katana+HS and it's pretty fun, usually I only use the HS to double barrel blast Sirens and Husks from close range but it can also help finish off a raged FP. My friend and I once played finished a game of begginner as lvl 6 beserkers only using the LAW and machette's. Even with this combo it was very easy. We ended up killing the patriarch with a machette rush.

For suppourt I generally use AA-12+Hunting Shotgun and the technique for scrakes and fp's is pretty much the same, two grenades, hunting shotgun, spam AA-12 hunting shotgun jump-shot looking down.

For Suicidal and above as Sharp I prefer LAR+M14. Scrakes get shot by the M14 then stunned by the LAR then finished off with the M14. Fleshpounds are a bit more riskey, it's usually M14 every few seconds untill they rage then M14 spam. Sometimes I'll use LAR+Dual HC (just incase I get hugged).

For medic I usually go MP7+M14+katana. This gives me the flexibility to kite if needed and tank fp's and scrakes while doing a considerable amount of damage to their heads.

I haven't really played commando much but the times that I have, I've found the AK+SCAR to be a great combo. Tapping scrakes in the head with the AK then switching to the SCAR and going to town seems to work well.

As for things that aren't "standard" like using all perk weapons, I do like the LAR (semi seriously) and the shotgun (for ****s and giggles) with commando.

Firebugs used to take a handcannon or katana all the time, but now that they've all switched over to the mac-10, I still prefer a handcannon almost all the time.

Can't think of much else that's particularly odd, but I have a tendency to choose sharpshooter weapons if there's a choice - like a support specialist without the ability to carry two shotguns, or a medic, or early game demo..

My medic loadout is MP7/LAR/Machete/Handcannon, in the general order I buy it in, but the 9mm is used more liberally on lower difficulties. Machete lets me decap lone clots or gorefasts to save on ammo just a little bit, and steal the attention of any zed needed while the handcannon is generally for straight up battles. LAR can be used to support the pistols or for a more specialized job like picking off a husk/siren, even kiting a fleshpound for a few seconds. MP7 is obvious but it's the weapon I loathe firing the most, maybe one magazine per wave that I allow myself because of long reloads.

That said.. I don't play much of medic.

I've seen SCAR and crossbow as Sharpshooter, too. I think Commando and Sharpshooter do equal damage on headshots (Commando general assault rifle bonus and Sharpshooter universal headshot bonus are equal).

Never tried it myself though. Slow reloads and high recoil might make it ineffective.

I wouldn't say that Scary is crazy, as I've played with him many times, he just is a master of any and all weapons in the Killing Floor arsenal, so he knows how to use anything as any perk. Hell, he even plays Hell on Earth on another account as a level 0 Firebug, and still can hold his own more than well using Axe/LAR.

As for combos, I've played M32/LAR as demo, Hunting, LAR, Axe as a support, and other similar ones. LAR is one of my most used weapons reguardless of perk.

That's the whole point, man.

As for the topic; SCAR+crossbow on sharp is useless. I tried it, so much recoil and low magazine count. selective fire can do good with single shots but that's all. You can be a pseudo-commando but that's it. If you want a rapid off perk weapon MAC-10 is the only choice as Sharp. AK-47 IS trustful but it takes up space and expensive compared to MAC-10 imo.

We ended up killing the patriarch with a machette rush

That's what I would call "death by a thousand papercuts".

Huh.. I use the AK/LAR as a commando, but now I'm curious as to how this works out as a sharpshooter. I'd guess like a primary that's better than your 9mm and handcannon for trash, not as good for sirens/husks.

Tried the mac-10 once but it felt silly, despite not being all that bad. The handcannon just seems more solid.

Berserker: M32+katana+handcannon
Katana for lone zeds, handcannon for crawlers/bloats
M32 for masses of zeds or helping to kill fp's

That's my favourite berserker loadout :). I usually ask a demo to buy the m32 since really expensive.

Then rage like nothing else when you run dry after 3 mags. The ammo limit makes it no fun at all to use the AA12 as anything BUT support.

You aren't supposed to dry all the magazines of an AA-12 or any sideaarm as a berserker. You still have 9mm for crawlers right? Your point is?
Also this was suppose to be a "crazy" combo you know?

My loadouts are pretty standard. Nothing really interesting to see here.

Medic: M7P+LAR+Fire Axe.

Support: Hunting Shotgun+AA12.

Sharpshooter: Either M14+LAR or Crossbow+Handcannon. M14/LAR is my preferred choice.

Commando: Bullpup+SCAR.

Berserker: Katana+LAR+Fire Axe.

Firebug: Flamethrower+MAC10.

Demolitions: LAR/M79+M32. If it's a close map with 1-2 entrances I use the M79; if not, LAR.

Also, I'm curious as to how people can use the M14 off-Perk. I tried it, and the recoil was horrible. Granted I was using it to try and mow down trash mob.

A question, fellow Commandos, would you rather have

-200 more rounds in reserve
-an optic
-the option of semi auto
-750 still in your pocket
OR
-A grenade launcher
-12 'nades to launch

This is what you're really asking yourself when you chose between buying the M4 for yourself, or paying the demo to buy you an M4 203. Food for thought.

Also, MP5M + SCAR + M4 203 [+9mm] sounds promising. If you actually use the MP5's 400 rounds, you might not terribly miss those 200 in your m4, and the other 100 you'll waste on excessive bursts, since M4 203 is full auto only and fast enough to be a little tricky to tap out just one round.

Katana + Claymore + Revolver is now the best beserker loadout.

And yes, you have more carry weight. But I use this because the Claymore SHOULD have six weight, not one.

But really, its a great loadout. Katana for cutting down trash hordes, revolver for bloat decaps, crawlers and general out-of-range things. Claymore for the big things like Scrakes and FPs and for when something Asolutely MUST DIE NOW (EX: Siren blasting your teams skulls open, Husk bombarding your team.)

It's a very fine loadout.

I'd be paying to not have the optics to be honest. After using it they've sort of grown on me a little, not as bad as the SCAR's, but I still prefer iron sights. The m203 does way too little damage as a commando and has such a long reload (this is to be expected) but I find I'd rather have a handcannon and single shot nade launcher as a demo.
