what about some nice juicy animations on those weapons? even in RO1 u had the animation when u were switching firing mode. now with adjustable iron sights it really seems silly that the iron plate on the mp40 magically appears and disappears at will. small things like this add ALOT of gameplay feeling!

I agree, but would prefer to fix the other bigger issues first.
It's definitely something to add on the to do list, imo

I agree with both of you, it would be good to have those animations but there's more important things to be fixed first. Aside from a sight-adjustment animation, I'd like to see a pick up weapon animation, where you see your arm reach out and grab it off the ground.

Or maybe Second World War Russian and German soldiers had extremely short range telekenesis, I don't know...

You can scroll up and down on rifle to adjust hop up.

Not only that, they need to really pick up the bullets also.
It was confusing for me for a while that when I pick up 1 stick of nade, I ended up with 2.

Agree.

Mag pouches were a feature that made RO different, the conformity to the ammo with gun system was an unnecessary and disappointing action.

feeling especially thick right now. is "hop up" slang or what? when i use the mouse wheel to "scroll" while i have the rifle aimed, it adjusts the rear sight leaf. is that what you're talking about? i don't see how it could be though. maybe i'd better check in at ro-ost and see just what the animations are you guys are saying are missing.

I hope TWI will add an animation when you change the firemode of some guns. Even in Roost or Dh there were animations for some weapons. Pls TWI give us some Animation !

Yes, and it was fine that you was able to share your equipment with your comrades. Panzerfaust and sachels for example.

When i was starting with RO1 you have to pick up every magazine and every clip, it was good that TWI have change it to only one mag-bag. Because that was to much, and you were dieing a lot when you try to pick up every single 5 round clip.

I hope they will bring it back to the game like it was in RO1. Weapon, Mag, each Grenade and explosivs.

Oh and i would like to see some animation for switching the fire mode (like in RO1) or for changing the range, too.
It happen sometimes that you change your range because you are scrolling, but you don

As far as picking up ammunition seperately, I'm glad it isnt in Ro2. It did add some OMG WTF moments to getting the gun shot out of my hand, but the system needed some much needed tweaking. I don't blame TWI for dropping it.

If a similar system were put in place, I would use Metro 2033 as a great example of picking up ammo off bodies. In that game you would pick up individual magazines off of bodies, but the magazines were always in a mag pouch of some sort. So imagine there is a dead German, and you want his MP40 ammo, you would simply look at his mag pouch, click 'USE', and have the ammo. It would also (hopefully) keep all of someone's gear from falling into a neat pile, and not lead to needless proning simply to pick you that one Luger mag pouch that is under 3 Kar-98s.

Nope, "Hop-Up" is a system used in air-arms fiering spherical projectiles, IE mainly Airsoft guns and some 4.5mm BB guns, it's basically a small rubber bucking portruding from the roof of the barrel at the breach, which applies backspin to the BB as it is fired, as this has the effect of making the BB fly longer, significantly boosting the range of such air-arms.

So yeah, needless to say it's got nothing to do with fire-arms, or adjusting the sights, it's a mechanic only used in air-arms chambered for spherical projectiles. Methinks Nazarov has his terms mixed up a tad..

Anyway, more in keeping with the topic: I definately think the quality of the weapon animations has been degraded over Ost in HoS, not only are some missing, like opperating the mode selector, attaching/detaching bayonets, and ofcourse, adjusting the sights isen't fully animated. But i also find the quality of the animations lacking, if you look at the anims for reloading the rifles in Ost, and then the same anims in HoS, the HoS anims do look rather wooden and stiff by comparison (still better than most games, but not up to par with what Ost had i'd say).

Obviously there are bigger fish to fry, but better anims would definately be welcome at some point down the line.
