Yeah, I like how dual handguns aren't necessarily better than one. In fact, if I accidentally pick up a second one, I'll usually drop it so that I can properly aim the one I have.
I guess I can see the benefit of using two against the hordes of monsters we're fighting when they get to close range, but at anything beyond close range, they should be ineffective, and they're pretty close to it in this game, which is good.
There is a very good reason why no one in real life with any firearm training uses two handguns at a time unless they're goofing off at the gun range. You can shoot one more accurately, you can still shoot it as fast as you can pull the trigger, and you can reload it faster. The only benefits I can see are having more ammo before having to reload (the reload itself would take much longer unless you just drop one of the handguns when it's empty), and you could theoretically shoot in more than one direction at once, but that's obviously not very practical except in movies and video games.
