I stated that the game does not have any situation where you, as a rifleman, would be better armed than yourself as an assault. Reasons given.

you and yourself have equal skills, right? Then it's not dependent on player skill.



so I had an SMG. 6 enemies also had it.

now I have an SMG and only 3 enemies will have it.


that's what I meant by fewer threats. With the current design choices, more riflemen means a much easier scenario for the smg guy.
Again it's all dependent on the situation. Who gets the shot off first, who has better accuracy, where does the bullet hit. Just because you have an SMG doesn't mean anything. It's not like you as the SMG now have invisible bolt action armor and are only vulnerable to another SMG.

from from what i understand, is youve reduced class slots on all maps. however on realism servers theres a limit anyway?

that can be seen as good thing, but for those of us who play mostly realism servers, we not gonna see any change?

-spawn camping issuses solved! that is much good news, nothing winds me up more.

and yea i hope we dont see even more idiots playing as SL/TL just to get the smgs, im a lvl 3 sl, witha lvl 26 mp40, i like to think i know how to play that class, i have nothing against people playing that class if they low level, weve all gotta learn, but i hope ill be able to role steal of people if they being useless.

The attempt is appreciated, but I'm not downloading it unless and until something is done about close range hit detection. I want the game to be bolt-oriented, but I sure don't want to be stuck in a room with an smg'er or lmg'er (or even pistol wielder) with a bolt and have my perfectly aimed center chest shot fail to register ...

The attempt is appreciated, but I'm not downloading it unless and until something is done about close range hit detection. I want the game to be bolt-oriented, but I sure don't want to be stuck in a room with an smg'er or lmg'er (or even pistol wielder) with a bolt and have my perfectly aimed center chest shot fail to register ...

I'm convinced this has more to do with overloaded servers... You seeing this on small servers or half full servers too?

All of them. Whether I have low or high ping, whether there is a significant difference in ping between me and the enemy (or not), etc. I've tried pinning it down to some sort of latency issue, but that doesn't seem to be the case. While it does, occasionally, work at close distance, @7-8 times out of 10, it doesn't. And, when it DOES register, more often than not a close range, perfectly ADS'd center chest shot will barely phase the guy; he will kill me, bandage his leg and scamper off.

there is nothing wrong with hit detection

K i just started up the beta and i joined a server and the following happened

- Names of players , objectives , and other things were invisible or taken out , so when a objective was taken it would say "axis have captured the" and " has joined the game.

-I could not spawn at all , it just had me in spectator the whole time , then when i switched teams it killed my player that HAD spawned but didnt let me control him. it continued after i changed teams.

I don't know if you read my past post ... unless you're saying it's some type of server latency not related to the relative pings of the players involved. Either way, the end result is the same ... you get killed by someone you rightfully killed. No joy.

Does it happen when holding breath? I get the feeling it has something to do with client side breathing not being in synch with the server. Never having this issue while holding breath supports this theory.

That happened to me very often.....before the patch.

Now if we could only get people on the test server ... I'd really like to see what changes were made to the numbers of classes so I can give feedback, but there's no way to tell if we don't fill up a test server.

EDIT:

OK so Steam downloaded another 800 mb file today, and this is after I downloaded the 900 mb beta file last night ... all I know is that now when I spawn in the beta server, I have no weapons and can't see any bot players. Right ...

how many beta servers are there? just one in the us, or is there one in europe too? with my slow connection playing in the us is pointless and dling 900mb takes over an hour here. doesn't matter much, i have enough other stuff to do atm, but if there was a european beta server i would definitely check it out.
the changelog sounds very promising, i hope to see some more people playing once the patch goes live.

I've seen it with even 16 people. Stand a couple meters from a guys back who isn't moving. Pop, pop, pop....miss miss miss....then they turn around and slay you.
