Part of the problem with fallen fighters is that it is next to impossible for the germans to cap B, so it becomes a battle to hold C for axis.

This is fine with a good team with a mix of agressive and defensive players, but lets face it most axis players like to camp at the back.
I played three rounds in a row of fallen fighters yesterday :eek: ,as russians we had loads of fun. We took D early on and then were assaulting E for the next 10-15 mins,both rounds.
We were losing on reinforcements but the axis were still held up in E at the end.If they hadn't had an exceptional tank they would have lost in the first 6-7 mins.
I got auto-balanced in the third round(all dem ragequitters I suppose) and what a difference, out of 30 axis players only 6 were not in E after 5 mins.

One was the tank and the rest were myself and members of my squad who were having fun in the sewer tunnels in close quarters with the allies. We held D at the end and lost but we had fun.

So it comes down to the type of axis player in the game, on average they are as skilled at shooting maybe even better but as a team player they suck big hairy ones.
They seem to be so used to easy maps where they find a window and press LMB for 20 mins they have lost the skill of playing the game.

A mix of good team players on the axis side can hold C quite easily with an SL in the tunnels on either side and an average tank and TL.
So Fallen Fighters can be won by the germans if they can be bothered to leave spawn!

On a personal note this map is hard work, because there is nowhere on the map that you can't be killed/sniped at any time, high concentration levels and frustration put off a lot of people

Think that was me, as in most maps a proper Tank is the trump card, I've found that playing german tank it's importent to advance all the way to the furthest Lane and simply deny the allies the ability to run into B and C. with HE and machinegun fire.

I alwas, always as a tank get a redicules amount of kills, also fire a few HE rounds at random through the allies windows and I bet you with in 5 minues none of them will be looking out.

Tank truely is a monster on this map, love it!

Fallen fighters would be more enjoyable if the germans could actually take B. more cover on the left side of B, and increasing the cap zone more over to the left on B would help

I always pick German on Fallen Fighters and never had an issue with capturing all objectives, so long as the teams are balanced and my team know's what they're doing.

I very rarely run through the centre of the cap zones and usually stick along the outer walls for good cover and distance from the enemy.... most of the time my team sticks around there, while the Russians stick to their outer walls..... have a Panzer lay down fire on them while having 2-3 guys flank the final Cap area of the Russians building and clear out the campers/MG's and the match is easy as hell.

Heck I sneaked into the Russian building by myself with my semi auto and took out everybody in the building in a minute with my bayonet and an odd shot here and there, then laid down fire towards the Russians leaving their spawn area near the trams.... they couldn't recover after that and we won.

^ Of course the above tactics can work both ways.... but if you wander off away from your team, or decide to venture off into the middle of the square, you're going to die a lot sooner than if you stick to the outer walls and with your team (you have a better chance of the guy next to you being shot, rather than you being shot)

I think FF is just unbalanced. This is ofc just my opinion.
In almost every round on the german side I try to rush/def C (basicly lying 20min behind a wall). Never had a game where the Germans took the obj. behind C but a bunch of axis-getting-spawn-trapped ones/all reinfs were wasted to hold the Fountain.. So I decided to grab the Russian side (I mostly enjoy them on Appartments/Spartanovka but I was close to rage quitting so I swapped the team).... and I got 14 kills - 0 deaths during the match with a 300 ping, capped C and got killed in the end - 4 minutes left - by a German Sniper.

*btw* do you think it's possible to get 73 kills as Riflemen on that map with 80h experience?

Very much so. Forget about your ping. Far too many (new) players get hung up on ping. (And besides, unless they've changed it for RO2, 300 ping is only 150 as most other games measure it.) Adjust your lead for your ping vs the avg ping on the server. Insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result.

While Fallen fighters can be frustrating as hell playing as Germans.I quite like it. It is certainly one of those maps, where you have to move slow and carefully when attacking, so it is quite interesting compared to some maps, where it is all about rushing.

How to win it as axis: Rush the fountain while you can and camp the rest of the game inside the capzone/tunnel

Tunnel. And arty always goes right in the middle of the cap ..killing all the poor souls hiding behind the fountain. I'm not sure if players don't give a **** or are just unaware that you can hold the cap while behing in a spot nobody can shoot at.

Good tankers will really help the germans as they can clear out the middle caps/the A cap without being exposed to sniper fire. Get a marksman to scan A for AT guys trying to kill your tank, they should get 2 shots off at most.

There are no bad troops.Only bad leaders.

Yep, take charge, give your teammates warning that in the final 90 seconds we need every last fritz on that cap, that counts all the MGers and everyone sniping. FF is basically 18:30 minutes of fluff and then its a battle in the last 90 seconds for who can control the C cap (call arty on there path to C). Smoke is very important for you team to be able to get onto C without dying. I've seen multiple german teams that never captured C that round, take it with 15 seconds to spare and win the map.

The second best way to win it, is to kill all their reinforcements. There are 2 ways to do this give the allies C, make them fight for D and just defend D (so no wasting manpower on C) as their snipers/mgs will have a harder time shooting targets in D and be more exposed. You should be able to kill them at a much higher rate than your team dies especially on the far side of the D as the move in through those tunnels.

Their reinforcements will drain even faster if you let them take D and get your team setup to cover all entrances to E (a bit tricky). The most important one is a good team of mg/marksman/rifles/tank to shoot from NE of D (east of the building north of D all the way down the right side of the square. Also you need a team to hold the building north of D so your first team won't get flanked from inside the building. A third team should be on the 3rd floor of E watching the 3 exits to the tunnel west of C (they spawn in their), but are very vulnerable when they decide to leave the tunnel. Everyone else should just watch the E entrances and pick off the few players that get through. Well timed recon and arty are also important here.

Best way for the germans to win this map is to camp at least one if not two SL's in a subway tunnel on the right (facing soviets). Then just continually spawn your squad into battle and eventually you will gain ground and get into the merchandise store. I do the same as the soviets. SL's are about the only means to win on this map effecitively if both sides are competent.
