Want a Refund Thread!?

Hmm... I've seen a lot of answers on how to get the game working, and not many people who specifically stated that they tried everything and it still wont work (aside from server issues).

A patch will be released soon... so I don't think you'll have the option for a refund (no game ever released allows refunds , exchanges yes, refunds no... as you needed a CD key to play, and in this case, it was downloaded).

I'd be unhappy... but there's not much you can do, and screaming bloody murder wont help.

What good is a patch if i cant connect to ANY server? i cant even get onto the chat/help servers. I myself have tried all suggestions that i have read on this forum. And no, it is not a firewall issue. I am totally out of patience with this game and company - thanx tripwire for selling a at best "beta" game.
if i cannot get this game to work soon, i am going to contact my credit card company and get them to reverse the charges.

I understand your anger here, but unfourtunatly I think you are out of luck. The very nature of the gaming world is very unforgiving at best. I know it sucks to be out the money as you could have used it for some KFC or beer, but the only thing I can reccommend is giving it time. Have you posted your problems yet? A lot of people here have been extreamly helpful troubleshooting problems for those of us who cant seem to get it running in tip top shape. Best of luck!

how does the credit card refund thing work? I mean I could call my credit card company and tell them to refund me my money but then I can just keep the game installed and get my money back.

So what would happen? Steam would not allow me to play the game? Im just curious, because Im sure some people could call in and say that the game isnt working and once a patch is out start playing the game w/o having paid for it.

Yes i have posted on here regarding my problems. but allow me to go over my problem so far.
I start the game, go to multiplayer-internet, wait for a server list then times out with "cannot connect to master server" or whatever. cannot seem to get any sort of connection on RO, not even the chat help servers. i play DoD:S and CS:S through steam, so i dont think its a steam error. I have tried with bitdefender on and off, and winxp firewall is turned off. i have a cable internet connection, no router installed, not wireless. i have a fresh install of winxp pro, with all the latest updates.
i got this game the day after it was released on steam, so you can see my frustration - i have not been able to play this game for almost 2 weeks now.

I have my windows firewall up and it still allows me to play, dont know about anyone else... at least you can cross that one off the list (at least i hope so!!!) I feel for you, and can definatly understand why your upset. I hope we can get it sorted out!

HOW DO YOU GET A REFUND? I PAYED GOOD MONEY FOR THIS GAME AND IT ACTS MORE LIKE A VIRUS THAN A GAME, REBOOTING EVERTIME, GIVE ME A FIX OR A REFUND NOW.

No, it is a standalone game. You don't need anything else. I notice you posted on another thread earlier today - give us time to fix it and we will!

LOL you posted in the forum?, and how many MINUTES did you wait for a reply?
I brought the game on steam and played it NP. I'm sure that the majority of people here have. How many different variations of computer can it be tested on? How many of the thousands of RO staff LOL are allocated to testing?
How many games when released even have a FORUM to provide support?. Most will charge you at premium rate connect you to a thoroughly uninterested pondlife who follows a flow chart to solve your problem and after keeping you waiting for 20 minutes tells you he can't help you and it must be a configuration problem.
The game has been released what 3 weeks now?
There is a beta patch being tested now.
I also play COD2 for which I've been waiting 6 months for a patch...............
Take a deep breath and get on with it
