Pistols:
Not an FN FiveSeven. They are neat pistols, but they're designed to pierce kevlar. Tissue damage will be on the low side for a zombie game. I'd rather have a 10mm pistol. Preferably not a Plastic one. Sig is working on a 10mm on a 220 platfrom IIRC. Sounds great! A .44 would be nice too.
Oh, and don't gimp the 10mm when compared to the .357. They are identical unless you're firing at longer distances, in which case the weight of the .357 gives it a small advantage. The 10mm has more energy though.
UNLESS of course, it gets some kind of unique penetration advantage (like not losing damage when fired through mobs, being able to hit weak spots covered up by armour, etc. which other gun do not have. (talking about the FiveSeven here)
SMG's:
Thompson, PPSH41, FN P90 (Yes, I just bashed the FiveSeven. But the rate of fire makes up for this one easily imho). The higher above 1000RPM, the better!
Assault Rifles/Battle Rifles
FG42 900RPM of 8mm Mauser. Even more nomnom!
M1 Garand would be OK, too. Even though it is a battle rifle, I'd rather see it in a marksman role. The FG42 beats its by so much, though.
G3 Would work, but... but... Mah FG!
That being said, 6.5x55 is a masterful round. So perhaps something chambered in that? A highly accurate assault rifle. Keep your 5.56!
But if there HAS to be something in 5.56, make it a Famas...

Machine gun:
NOT the MG3. Take a real MG42, not a NATO watered down version! 8mm and 300RPM faster. I mean, you're not gonna pick an MG42 platform MG if it's not at least partially for the rate of fire!
But hey, I know something better! the cancelled MG60. It had prototypes made, so it's not too far fetched... 1850RPM (7.62 though)
Either way, unlike the MG42, the MG60 did not have the bolt jumping into the buffer when firing, which is by FAR the biggest cause of recoil and wear and tear in MG42 platform guns. Compared to the MG42, the MG60 was nearly recoilless. And that is no exaggeration. At all!
Semi Auto/Bolts:
Again the FG42 and M1 should they not be accepted as battle rifles.
Also the Kar98. I see a lot of votes for the Mosin, I wouldn't mind, but it's second pick for me. Something in .458 Win Mag, perhaps?

I dunno if we need giant handguns in-game. But I always thought a S&W .500 would be a better alternative.
