I would like to improve my teamplay skills by using the in game VOIP or Teamspeak server. I use a great set of headphones($100) for the sound in game. Should I just get a mic.? Or would it be better to get a headset? And what are some good mics/headsets to get? I would be willing to spend up to $30US. Thanks.

headset would be better...b/c if you get a mic and use speakers when you talk into your mike you'll pick up all the gunshots and explosions in the background, or just get distortion from the speakers

You can easily get a decent headset for 30 bucks and it will greatly enhance your communication abilities.

I have some great headphones (5.1 surround) and I didn't want o buy a shitty headset with 2.0 stereo sound, so I just bought a mic - been using that for over a year now and it works great.

I just use a clip on microphone myself. (bought a cheap headset of 5 dollar, broke the microphone added some ducktape and pasted it on my t-shirt .
Better than buying a shitty headset since there aren't any good sounding headsets out there :X.
