OK I checked all my dictionaries and asked my friends, but no one could've explained to me clearly what does: "plod" and "plonker" mean?

My friend told me that plonker is a sound that a **** makes when it hits the water in a toilet but that explanation doesnt sound right :/

Thanks!

Yeah, "plonker" pretty much means idiot, dickhead, numpty, etc.

"Plod" derives from the policeman from the kids TV show Noddy (PC Plod), and is a sort-of derogatory term for policemen in general. I can't say I've ever witnessed anyone using it as a general insult, but it certainly fits the vocabulary of a Cockney.

The voice acting in KF is horrible but its very funny though. I mean horrible by the way its like the chars have some brain problems I guess. Anyway its way better than BC2 Vietnam NVA voice acting lol In EA forums some native vietnamese made a topic about even they cant understand what the NVA soldiers are saying in the game xD

In no way the voice acting is horrible. Whether by accident or purposefully, TWI created amazing voice commands both for survivors (silly British :p), the trader (i know she's annoying but that's how it's supposed to be) and specimens. Great job I love these silly commands xD :IS2:

Did you read my whole post? I said they are horrible because they are way to british. You see if theres no text on the screen when someone is using the voice commands and you are not native british how are you supposed to know what these commands mean? What tha hell is plonker, crayden on the friday night, tosspot, pillock, the whole brown bread phrase etc. Yes I read the topic about these words but if I hear them without any text I cant figure what they mean.

It is supposed to be 'too' British though, it is an exaggeration, a 'piss-take' so to speak, because not all British people are cockneys. It's just stereotyping for fun.

I agree that over-seas players may not understand the meaning behind some of these words, but for me, this is the only pure, right-at-home english game I know and it is brilliant that these slang phrases are being used!

I wouldn't change a thing!

Whatever they say to each others could be easily converted as "useless idiot".

I had absolutely no idea what half of the phrases meant when I first started playing KF and I loved it.

I started playing and i didn't know what they meant either.

But i got the gist of it. Calling someone a "tosspot" or a "plonker" sounds very much like an insult, and i suppose the British-exclusive ones were confusing as hell.

But KF is what it is, and makes no apologies for it.
That's why i love it.
