The same glitch still probably applies from the mod version
Once you get in a vehicle you cannot get out of it or you are killed and its game over.

I wouldn't say no to the idea, but KF is based on 6-man, claustrophobic-type combat. Hallways, corridors, at best, streets filled with broken vehicles (I'm talking about the official maps, of course). The only map vehicle-friendly is KF-Farm, and even that has some big hills that could cause trouble for transportation.

To make vehicles for this, it would mean that:

a) You'd have to make a big-*** map(s) with clean terrain (streets, fields etc.) to drive on;
b) You would have to make the vehicles not overpowered (a tank against a bunch of zombies so slow my grandmother could outrun then? Hell, even the Flesh Pound wouldn't be so scary anymore);
c) You'd have to make a way for vehicles to be 6-man friendly. APCs that give the 4 soldiers carried inside a use, not just the driver and gunner. Tanks that can carry a number of soldiers on it and/or are extremely slow so that soldiers on foot can keep up. Armored Vehicles (most likely HMMVEs, since everyone get's a stiffy from those) that can carry 6 soldiers without giving attributes to 2 of them while making the others completely useless (same issue as for the APC).
d) You'd have to give them balanced weakpoints. Besides the Patriarch, there are no zombies that can fire from a large distance (Siren doesn't count, she can hurt only those in an area around her and she's slow as hell).

It's way to much work for the game team who right now are probably trying to balance out current content and make new, easy-to-make, fun for the original experience, content. Vehicles would mean, pretty much, a whole new game.

And seriosuly, to just "port" vehicles from UT2004? Where would you drive them?

I can see a list of possibilities with this idea. Drivable vehicles... hmmh...

Zul, if you don't like the idea you can always stay away from the maps that use those. I have nothing against extra content when it is optional.

I'd mainly go with "melee typed vehicles"
Munching, crushing, crunching, crashing the specimen. :p

No silly tanks.

cars in KF are diffcult, like Zul said, but I think if they are implemented correctly they could be fun.
for example this london-map... there are some destroyed vehicles, so why dont replacing 2 or 3 with a damaged car, which is still able to drive a little? make some more room but not too much, so that the car can drive a bit and give the car some HP. when it hits a specimen the specimen will die when the car is fast enough, but with more speed the car gets more dmg and will finally brake down so it can't be used anymore. fleshpounds for example need really high speed to be killed, but they do a lot of dmg, when they got hit, so it is a tactical thing to use the cars. patriarch should be kind of immune to cars...

What if there was a level specifically made for vehicles? like you're all on an apc and zombies start running over the walls nearby and jumping at you and its up to your team to prevent them from getting on your vehicle. and then once you reach you're destination you have to defend the base ect while the big (and ridiculously slow) double gate closes.

plus, we all know that if you make light personnel vehicles for KF, people will make maps to suit them.

maps are optional content, so if you dont like maps which are suited for vehicles you dont have to play them ;)

but your idea is good, too

have a map scripted map with a predefined path for a truck or something else, so you have limited space to act and after some time you reach the fortress and have to defend by foot
