I'd generally want to avoid jeeps and motorbikes if thier implementation was unrealistic like the Clown Car in RO1.
What would make these behave "realistically" in relation to the problems with RO1?
1.) Firstly, implement some of the stuff that Darkest Hour has implemented: If you jump out of a jeep or HT going at full speed, you die. If you drive your jeep at full speed into a tank (and maybe walls, not sure) it blows up.
2.) Realistic suspensions and vehicle behavoir. If you take your motorcycle or jeep and drive full tilt into a farm field or crash around into a gully, the vehicle should be extremely hard to control, risk rolling over, and even blow out the suspension.
3.) Probably most importantly, they should be
highly vunerable to small arms fire. A jeep or motorbike is a soft-skinned vehicle, and an MG can devestate it. Players inside should be more or less completely unprotected from MG or rifle fire,
like it is in real life.
Overall I think this would eliminate or at least reduce some of the problems present with small vehicles in RO. People would use them realistically, ie. getting TO the frontline, but not assaulting with it. An MG or HE tank round should tear a jeep or bike to shreds.
