Wow. The game must be heavily balanced and in the late stages of development for them to show the first footage as tournament play and for them to put that much money on the line. Shall be interesting.

1 million $ in price money? :O. Will be tough for TWI to beat that ^^.
Valve are ****ing epic; they just know how to do their stuff. Good luck to them, and that is gonna be one happy kid who bags that cash.
Valve must be super confident in the game which is good at this (alpha?) stage. Nice to see them getting back into ESPORTS and throwing out those ESPORTS dollars. Good riddance to LoL and HoN I almost feel sorry for the devs.
I don't know if it's a sign of their confidence, or how desperately they want to put DOTA back on top while they're helming the ship. That style of game has way more competition now than it did 4 years ago.
$1 million for Valve is, I would think, a fairly trivial price to pay for bringing ALL the DOTA competitive players straight to them and a ton of press to boot. Didn't Activision/IW/Treyarch do something similar with CoD?
Don't get me wrong, it's a sick amount of money. And I want to congratulate the lucky Asian team that's going to win it![]()
Swimming in dosh?Source engine in 2011? Oh ****, what the hell is Gabe doing?
Swimming in dosh?
Well, the event is taking place in Germany. I figure they're going for a more international appeal with this. Not even a single team from NA.
Source engine has been upgraded with time (HL2 engine --> Orange Box engine --> Left 4 dead engine), but imo it is really time to switch.
