The certainty of steam sales sort of suggests higher early adapter pricing.

I like 39.99 myself (and would/will pay that when the time comes). Even a 75% sale still gives ok revenue :).

There should be an "in before first sale" achievement (may I suggest an apple over a crocodile as the symbol for that?) for people buying, installing and opening the game before it is sold at a reduced price.

I hope it's not more than 30$. I'm saving money right now to buy a better pc for the game and hope I can afford it as soon as it is available.

To people saying it should be between $40-$60.... no. There is no way you're going to get more people buying the game if you go that high in price. We all love KF and think it's awesome, but it's not going to have the same demand of AAA games on the market, therefore people aren't going to put up that kind of money for it. Unless you're talking about early access, that typically is priced higher than retail, but you're only going to get die hard fans in early access willing to pay a premium.

We want to reach out to more than just existing KF fans. I want this game to have a big community and pricing it high isn't going to help foster that. Most people would simply wait for a Steam sale before buying.

Well they need to think before they set a price. If it's too high, many people who never played their games before might need buy the game. Anyway I value KF2 at 500 EUR

$29.99, only because I'm a cheapass lately. But if KF2 was released at $49.99 I'd probably still buy it.

Will you also buy the dlcs?

Probably not, I don't usually buy DLC for any PC game unless it has something really cool to offer, or maybe a large addition to the original game

But if there's extras for pre-ordering I always pre-order :p

I voted $39.99 as pain threshold. That would be the most I have paid for a game in several years.

I would pay $40. I will buy it day 1 early access. Been waiting for years to buy this game.

As Ramm has said in the past, there arent many games these days that are worth more than $50.

I've gotta say one of the reasons I got kf1 was from a friend as a gift, because it was DIRT cheap (It was during a christmas sale, but the full price at the time was $20).

I fell in love with the game and ended up buying spare copies for friends myself. Had it been more expensive I probably wouldn't have done that. I'm probably not the average kf2 consumer because I know I'll be buying it no matter the price but there are probably just a lot of other players out there just like me - Never heard of it, don't care about it, would only try it out if it was cheap/given as a gift. This doesn't happen with $60 games.

Paying (more) for early access is a stupid concept.
People are treating it like a preorder with early access nowadays which is what they should label it, if they're going to keep the game after early access period it should be described as being a pre-order bonus.

Actual early access, where you only get to play up until the game is released, should be free, you're doing the devs a favour and building a fanbase and interest before release, then on release they can choose to pay and continue.

Or the developers could pull a DayZ and release the game 1-2 years early access. Unbearably alpha and unfun. What's with developers these days releasing games before they're actually complete?

Getting the game a couple days early as a pre-order bonus has always been cool in my opinion. But early access alpha/beta makes no sense to me, I'd rather wait the extra 6-12+ months and play the game in a stable state. If developers want feedback on their current progress, hold a closed beta. Or even a friends/family beta. No need to go public with it lol

I dont agree...

I dont mind early access in any shape...

I just want to access a PLAYABLE version, it does not have to be complete and i dont mind BUGS, etc..

I want to play it, but also give feedback to devs.

Early access, much like full released games, have been very hit and miss. It's really dependent on the developer and you should do your research on the game before purchasing. I have plenty early access games that I have been quite happy with and others not so much. I trust TWI won't abuse the early access system and that they will deliver a quality product.

Charge us Hard here is Australia, we pay heaps for everything.

But No early access uncompleted rubbish. Finish the game and flog it here for $69.99

Alternatively, send me a pre release version and i will give you a proper appraisal of its value in australia for you. I wont even charge.

If it is an improvement over the first KF, and comes out finished and well polished i would pay $99.

I have got 300hrs out of the first one and still love it.

This should be TWI first properly retail priced game, like an $89.95 new X-box game. No box and dvd though, so drop $20, get to $69.

But the game has to be finsihed at that price, if not... poo storm. or offer it for $19.95 and live with the bugs.
