The vast majority of AAA titles are definitely over priced.
No s***.
That's why I think a lot of people are having a weird over-reaction to how much they'd like to pay for KF2. They're dramatically asserting the "need" for a low price point, probably out of some emotionally negativity to the price-vs-content of games right now (I'm looking at you, 1886).
Looking at the pole results, $30 bucks? Get the f*** out of here.
I'm calling major bulls*** on that.
And for all the people saying "I won't pay $60 for KF2", um, yeah you will, or you'll wait. And it's not like if you say you won't, that we'll have anyway of verifying it.
You want this game to be supported down the road for compatibility with things like Direct X 12 so you can easily run the game with max settings at 4K on moderate hardware?
You want free map packs?
You want mostly cosmetic optional DLC?
Then take your angst over past games that have f***ed you over (Deluxe Edition of BF4 is my favorite example), and concentrate your contempt on those publishers and refuse to pre-order their games or even buy them if they're good, until you can get them at such a good deal that it partially makes up for ripping you off before (why I'm waiting for a really low price on BF:H).
Games companies that deliver badass games SHOULD make a good chunk of change on them, that's how we get good games.
To the people that think a triple-A addictive multiplayer games is only worth $30: With all the s***y developer/publishers out there that rip you off, make you download gay s*** like Origin, who exactly is it your siding with? Because if you hate companies that hype s*** up and rip you off, you should be financially supporting the good competing developers.
If $60 is that big of a deal to you: then wait till the price goes down. Chances are, the game will have been updated even further with better balancing and patches, a larger player base, maybe even DX12 support by the time you get your hands on it.
You can watch all the reviews by your trusted information resources, to make sure you're getting something good.
Actually, if you always watched the reviews and waited until most of the bugs were squashed before you picked a game up, then you should always get something worthy of you spend, whatever it is.
I can say with certainty as an impulse buyer: If I could get back all the money I've spent on bad games back, I would have enough to buy all the good games I purchased, with a lot left over.
