I absolutely love this game and I struggle to find anything bad to say about it, however, there is one thing that I seem to hear people complain about is its graphics, to me it's great, possibly a little outdated but good enough to achieve what it tries to, and works on most machines. I do however think that this game deserves way more attention, not saying that it's small but with the level of detail, realism and uniqueness I just think it should be the biggest WW2 game out there, not COD, MOH or BF1942. I was wondering how difficult/time consuming it is (technically, not how much money tripware will have to pay to get the lisence for the engine) to upgrade the whole game into unreal engine 3 based? I know this probably will never happen, but I am just wondering :).

They already have the license mate, they won it!

The next installment of RO will be on the UE3 engine. But its extremely time consuming. I wouldn't be expecting to even see any media this year alone!

We all know theres no point asking for an annoucment anymore- but I would like to know the expected aceptable vehicle triangle count, and texture map sizes.
Cos you can bet a pound to a pinch of sh1t if it isn't ww2, the modders will jump all over it- and they might as well get on with making tanks asap.

I think its going to be RO2, it would be a lot of effort and experience wasted for a small company like TWI to not make RO2, however, I don't think the name will be RO2.

It's get a bit tiring waiting for them to announce something. Hopefully it will be next month.

Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2 Ro2

Please bare in mind however if you say RO2 five times while looking in a bathroom mirror - and have any doubts if it will work - you run the risk of being covered by a swarm of bees, and having a rusty hook jabbed right up your arsehole.

I think TW should start the hype early, so please do announce RO2 on UE3 and make us all happy little virtual soldiers! :)

I love the fact I have everything whacked up full on my system in the current game, with no HUD the game still looks fantastic and really immerses you like no other...RO on UE3 would be ultimate!

Allright, guess somebody has to fill you in, instead of arguing over what the next game will be:

RO started as a mod for UT2003, and then ported to UT2004, they entered the mod in the Make Something Unreal Contest held by Epic games, and won the contest, reciving a price of two engine licenses, UE2.5 and UE3.

They used their UE2.5 license to make RO go retail, but they still have the UE3 license, and they are now working on a new game using this engine, nothing has been announced yet, we dont know what this game will be, but chances are it will be RO2, and there are rumours that it will have a singleplayer component (since TWI origionaly wanted to make a singleplayer game, and they have been looking to hire new people who have experiance with AI), but its all speculation at this point.

But you can be sure they will make a game using the Unreal 3 engine, they have the license, and since they have been unusually quiet for a long time now, and haven't been making new updates for RO for a while, chances are good they are allready hard at work on this new game, whatever that might be.

o wow that's amazing, good to know that they've got the license and are probably working on something and it would be beyond stupid not to develop something on it if they've already won it for free. can't wait for whatever game it is to come out, if it's by the same team of people, it will definately be really really good.

I would, and probably 6-7 of my friends would pick up RO on UE3, most of my friends are more into DoD cause of the graphics, but loves the gameplay, and mechanics about Red Orchestra, but they can't find it in stores, so they're "waiting" for another good game. :p

I think RO is not that ugly. Actually it looks very fine in my eyes. And because in DOD:S everything else than graphics (which are too "clean" IMO) is sort of rubbish, I can

Indeed having nice GFX is all well and good, but it's the gameplay which always drives what I play.
I moved to RO after being thoroughly dissapointed with CoD2, and I think ROs gfx in comparison to that game are on par if your rig can manage the highest settings...you have to remember as well ROs maps are much much bigger, and there is a lot more things going on...but maps like Krasnyi, Hedghog, Konigsplatz and Stalingrad are some of ther best looking maps I've played in any game, and the type of battles you get are amazing the combat is so much more varied than CoD or DoD.
