You might want to join us in the real world where there's no longer any such thing as privacy. EA's Origin is collecting data anonymously. Your credit cards and store loyalty cards are collecting it personally about you. They are way more invasive to your privacy than EA ever will be. STEAM is just the same. I haven't bothered to opt out of their data collection because they're not collecting anything that a hundred other programs or websites aren't already collecting, such as eBay and Amazon where I buy stuff every other day.

If you don't want to play BF3 and want to continue deluding yourself that it isn't utterly superior to RO in every way, shape or form, that's fine, but by making a mountain out of a molehill you're simply making yourself look like a moron.

Thanks for the BF3 part, now we can see you for the deluded troll you are. Well done, and don't forget to bend over for the DLC

What are you talking about? I didn't say anything about RO being superior. This is about origin. You feeling ok?

Every single thing you install is doing this, everytime you visit eBay, Amazon or any other website that sells things they are "invading your privacy" and collecting your information.

You seem to have problems grasping the difference between a website retaining data such as your address, what you've bought and the browser you used, and a .exe file that sits on your computer, gives itself privileges to access files and data on your machine and then uses your bandwidth to send reports on what it finds back to a company.

It would be like Tescos not only remembering what you buy based on your use of their loyalty card, but sending miniature cameras home with you and requiring you to agree to install them in every room in your house before you're allowed to eat any of the food you bought.

I've explained to you very clearly that EA have changed their EULA because of the outcry and you've just carried on talking the same crap as if they haven't changed it.

They changed their EULA because of the outcry.

They changed their EULA.

Do you see that? They changed it because of the outcry. This leads me to believe that the only reason you're still arguing is because you're determined to take any opportunity to bad mouth BF3, like a lot of other people on this board are doing.

If you're bothered about what EA are doing with Origin, you better go and live in a cave because there are many other things in your life stealing way more personal info than Origin ever would. Such as credit cards and loyalty cards.

We never did hear back from EA about the Origin EULA thing, but Giant Bomb have noticed that the EULA has been substantially redrafted to sound less sinister. The new EULA is a bit more of protestation of innocence than the original legalese: “EA knows that you care how information about you is collected, used and shared, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so carefully and sensibly. Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and EA would never sell your personally identifiable information to anyone, nor would it ever use spyware or install spyware on users’ machines.”
It does seem like the rest of EULA means you are still basically agreeing to the same thing, however.

Wow man. What's wrong with you?

I've been a huge BF fan/player for as long as I can remember and I'm sure BF3 kicks some serious ***.
It's simple. I won't install BF3 until it get released on steam.
I'm just giving out info that most people don't know about Origin.
All the info you need is on Google. It's actually pretty scary some of the info you will find.
I just can't wait until someone analyses Origin and exposes what it is collecting and how it collects it.

Doesn't bother me who cares is EA knows what type of porn I watch or what gaming sites I frequent, or that I play alot of rpgs and fps. Its funny how the fanboys on this forum feel so threatened by bf3 that we are seeing silly threads like this

You might not care, but a lot of people do. You'd be hard pressed to find a gaming forum where people aren't talking about this, Origin and the EULA is one of the main criticism's for BF3.

I think it's clear that EA is a subdivision of the the NSA.

From Stranglehold's link:
“Origin lives where you live. On your mobile phone, on your desktop and on the web, Origin is always there.”

Big brother is always watching.

Also lol at the picture above me :D.
