Tried a few settings in the defaultengine.ini file if that's the one you meant.
Didn't make any difference.

I can change a few things, and it never looks better than in the screenshot, but I can get much lower FPS depending on the settings.
So I'm seeing the fps hit, but no the increase in graphical quality :(

Isn't there a setting that reduces quality if your FPS goes below the figure stated? Can't remember what it was in the ini though

I usually get pretty good framerate, but does anyone know where and what this setting could be?

This problem is starting to get to me when I see all the nice screenshots that others show...

This problem is getting on my nerves, I built a new PC for this and a few other games, and still I pretty sure if I was to hook up my old PC and try the game it would look better that it does now.

I thought it would get solved pretty fast but now it's been a few patches and the problem persists.

I would be glad if it was something I have done wrong, but unfortunately no one has been able to tell me what it may be :(

Here is a few that are on my system with most settings on Ultra, made just moments ago:

I have an E6600 Core 2 proc @2.8Ghz-3Ghz with an EVGA GTX 560 Ti (images pictured above) and 4 Gigs ram.

For what it is worth, I recently upgraded from my (Qty. 2) ATI 3870's running crossfire and and was happier using the 10.5 drivers than the 11.X, with the exception of map load times during the beta. In any case, on Med-low settings, I believe my system at the time produced a little better than what you are posting here. For example:

I recall seeing some info on Umbra culling and that using that command reduces graphics settings, you did not use that by chance did you? You might try backing up, them deleting your ini files and allowing the game to recreate them just for a quick test.

[fix]

[fix]

I found a solution! :D

  • Install RadeonPro
  • Create a profile for RO2
  • Go to the tab Advanced
  • Check the box for Mipmap quality and put the slider on the third notch from the left (next best quality).
  • Run the game :)
