Hey Tripwire Fans,
Perhaps my searches have not been comprehensive, but has the dates for the Twisted Christmas for this year been announced as yet?

Based upon the patch dates from the last two years, it looked like middle of the first week of December or the beginning of the second week of December.

I was just curious if there was a definitive date or not.

TWI doesn't give definitive dates, not since the Twisted Christmas debacle of 2012, where the event was 2-3 days late and so many people lost their sh*t. We're talking end of the world panic, burn TWI at the stake here.
Anyway, it will probably happen around that time again this year, and a good indicator of when it is close is when the KF steam database gets updated (event normally starts around a week after?).

OP you already solved your own problem in your post.

Edit: TWI should make it so when you join the forums during a event, you must check a box stating that dates for events are never revealed.
I have not been on steam's KF Community but I'm sure it's much worse over there.

As Broski pointed out, it was just a simple question.

I was mostly asking as a friend of mine gets really excited for this event. I was just looking to keep the excitement alive for my friend. I look forward to fighting the Christmas Zeds and working on some achievements.

As for the community losing their courtesy and tact about dates in the past, I cannot speak to that as I only recently registered to this forum as my profile points out. It is unfortunate that the players acted in such a way and I am not a fan of this trend for many gaming titles.

Yes, I seem to have resolved my own question in my post for the purpose of a rough estimate on patch availability.

As I was ignorant of past events, I apologize bringing up a sore spot for the community inadvertently. I will endeavor not to "poke the bear" so to speak.

This is entirely true. I even had spoken to Yoshiro recently for a small meeting I did for the KFG tournament. I tell you what, they refuse to do any type of dates for anything due to what happened back in 2012. They warned people of the reasons for it being delayed etc but most of the community was not having it at all.

I see you was not near but atleast imagen a team of 5 people hosting a cinema treat for 50 people. It was delayed by 20 minutes (with warnings of problems) and 40-45 people were litrally throwing food everywhere and demanding more for something they got for free.

A bit extreme but you get the point ;)

Well, that is truly a shame. I will just let my friend know that it is soon and that we will just make plans when things emerge.

Thanks all for the "history" lesson and I hope that history does not repeat itself in that shape or form.

Regardless of receiving a date, you can probably safely assume the even to start during the 3rd week of December and go till at least early January.

I do like me a bit of KFmas to lift my spirits in the Yuletide Season. Ho ho ho. Although i'm certainly looking forward to Christmas 2015 event more.... for some reason. ;)

New map called ThrillsChrills, interesting. And judging by the achievement names it is the map everyone wanted, another Ice cave. At least it is a Christmas map this year. Looks like event will be starting any day now. The Xmas event I noticed they usually start pretty early.

So no more unlockable or DLC characters Tripwire? It's a bit weird no DLCs since summer (yes I miss them REALLY).


I'm wondering if swift made it again or was it Tripwire dev(s).
