TWI, you do realize you did not fix the achievements, right?

The campaign achievements are bugged and do not unlock. Here are the global achievement stats provided by Steam for RO2:

Beat German Campaign Chapter 2 - 29.8%
Beat German Campaign Chapter 3 - 26.2%
Complete the German Campaign on any difficulty - 8.9%

Complete the FULL CAMPAIGN on Recruit or above - 62.6%

Please provide us with an update on this problem. It's been over a MONTH since release, with a recent patch assuring us that the stats and achievement problems were fixed.

Exemplary Service is another bugged achievement, I've gotten several in-game promotions and this achievement will not pop.

For the community members here, don't bother posting about how achievements don't matter. If they don't matter to YOU, then kindly stay out of this thread.

Yes, they realize it - look at how many identical threads are made daily about the same issues. I can assure you that they're aware of them and most likely are bumping their heads together on a daily basis, trying to fix the abundant amount of issues within this just-released game.

For future reference, try looking around the forum prior to posting on it - usually you're posting the exact same bunch of text as the hundreds of people before you, and that is most definitely not going to help; instead you might want to help by adding potentially new/undiscovered hitches within the game in already created and further developing threads (e.g. the tons of stickies around this forum).

In the previous 5 pages of threads, there are quite a few threads created to voice concerns over multiplayer stats not working; there is only one about achievements, and none about singleplayer campaign achievements. If this topic is covered in other threads, I wouldn't know, as I don't read through every single post on the forums. I generally rely on the thread titles to give me a good idea about what's inside.

OMG Tripwire y u no fix achievements??? Why don't you spend time fixing something that does nothing but stroke player egos and is not an integral part of the game!?

...

I'm this close to going on a rant why achievements are the second worst inventon that should be disinvented, falling just short of the a-bomb. Few things make players more stupid than the hunt for achievements. Achievements do nothing and impresses no one. Achievements are like some sort of drug with all the addicting qualities but none of the beneficial.

Well, stats seem to work most of the time. Yet I still lose/gain 1-3 levels every time I relog so it kinda sucks, but nothing like on release.

I'm up there with you in regards to relying on thread titles to provide you with an insight regarding their content... however that's wishful thinking, in my experience. Just try using the search function, or Google-search this forum by keywords that are linked together - I've seen several complaints about the single player achievements, although I can imagine that by now these have disappeared due to the overwhelming amount of complaints and whatnot.

Ok, I'll post again without any sense of humour.

Achievements exist outside the game, they are not an integral part of the game experience. A month has passed since release and the game still has many high priority bugs that requires the attention from the tiny development team at tripwire. I would guess achievements rank somewhere among the lowest priority issues.

I totally agree. Yesterday, I had about 1 hour of really nice gameplay. I could enjoy it. I noticed that in the bottom right corner, steam achievement messages popped up, but I couldn't read which one (sitting too far away from screen) and I wouldn't bother to check when going to bed. Same goes for k/d ratios and weapon accuraccy. I don't care and achievements is the last thing effort should be put on, before the performance problems are still occuring.
I mean, how come that my fps are changing from 60-80 to 20-40 after like half an hour of gameplay?

I can't get any SP achievements, but the goddamn sound problem is more aggravating to me. It's the second or third time they've said they fixed it, but me and others are still getting it regularly. Also, my stats are messed up, I STILL have scandalously high accuracies with a few weapons, and kills with them seem to not track (non-bugged weapons track fine).

Whilst I agree with this there is a fundamental issue here that does effect the game..

It simply shows a (rather simple) part of the game is broken, which is not good PR when your trying to say your new game is great (which it is) to new buyers.

Would be better if they simply removed them , though why they cant get something so simple working slightly baffles me too to be honest. If the single player parts are broken you would think the mistake should be glaring. I personally suspect theres a flag that hasnt reset so most people will have already done the early parts such as training etc before the reset.. Now after the reset the client thinks you have already done that part so doesn't activate the achievment if you were (sad enough) to go back and get it..

If they cant even fix something as simple as achievements then its just a slap in the face of every new buyer of the game.
They were better off pushing this game to 2012, that is pretty obvious now.

This is kind of my point..

Whilst I couldn't care less about achievements I'm still a little sub consciously aware as I play that a rather simple part of the game is basically broken (and one that seems to be so basic) almost a month after release and after a supposed major fix!!!.

Now I have faith in TWI sorting issues out, but anyone just picking this game up is going to think its all a bit messy..

If they were going to take the time to fix all the "simple" tiny things, such as getting achievements to work, they are wasting precious man hours better spent on fixing crippling bugs such as crashes to desktop, sound cutting out and strange performance drops. The **** storm that would ensue on the forums if they had "Fixed singleplayer achievements" in a future changelog while the game is still prone to crashing or reporting the wrong stats, people on the forum would not take kindly to such strange priorities.

Stats and achievements are an integral part of the game for me. Achievements give me goals to strive for and stats give me the feeling of accomplishing something instead of the same monotonous action (*cough* Counter-Strike: Source *cough*).
