TWI official servers. How to report cheaters?

So I was playing on one of the official TWI servers yesterday, and on apartments all allied reinfs got wiped, there was only one player left afk in the first spawn and 4 mins left to map ending. Fortunately the axis had this figured and came running for him.

All us allied had the last afk player spectated, and he didn't move at all. However we saw that as soon as the axis players came around the corner from the bridge, the player automatically hipfired his PPSH and straightaway gunned them down 1 sec after they appeared. This happened a couple of times until several axis came around the corner and one of them managed to kil him.

Now, this was mighty suspicious. After that round he started moving around I and started following him to see what was up. And sure enough he had some kind of cheat that autoaimed and autofired his gun when there were any enemies in the direction he was facing no matter how far away or hidden they were.

I tried getting his steam information in the "Vote Kicking" menu, but that is botched and only shows a handful of random players, never the cheater of course. I tried looking for admin information but could not find any, and PB was apparently not turned on. None of the other players seemed to care much.

In desperation I figured out I would get him kicked for tking, so I started moving around with him, staying in front of him, and since his gun fired automatically he would start tking me. After 5 rounds of this he was finally kicked. However later that evening he was back on the same server, doing the same thing!

So my question is, what to do on the official TWI server when these kind of things happens? Who to turn to? I don't have this guys steam id because the tools that should provide them for me was bugged, but in case I run into him again (he used the same nick all the time) I would like to know, so this cheater can be permanently booted from the game.

My guess would be that you would need to make a video and send it to evenbalance which can quite possibly work with PBBans to get him banned..

VAC on the other hand is fully automated, it does not rely on user input.

I see. So if VAC has picked up on him cheating he will eventually get banned?

Also, how do I record video, is this feature implemented in the game?

Never go on servers with np PB..whenever I'm suspicious it turns out I was on a non PB server...

I am going to, I can tell you that. I was actually surprised that an official TWI server hadn't turned PB on.

I don't think that demo's are fully supported yet. I tried in the beta to record with the "demorec filename".
Stop it with "stopdemo" or at the end of the match, and play with "demoplay filename".

So currently I would suggest programs like FRAPS to record your demo with.

If VAC has flagged him as a cheater he will be banned as soon as the next banwave arrives. VAC does not immidiately ban, it can take weeks or even months before VAC actually bans the cheater. Which is why Punkbuster has been chosen as a second anti-cheat program.

It probably was but switched itself off. I'm finding the webadmin very flakey, the number of slots I set keeps switching back by itself for example.

His nick was "dany" (no capitals), so it doesn't seem like he has been banned by PB.

That sucks. I guess that will make it more difficult finding good pinged PB-servers, then.

How do I report a suspected cheater in a VAC secure game?


To report a cheater:

1. Go to the user's Steam Community profile
2. Use the "Report Violation" button in the top right of the page
3. Select "Suspected Cheater", add a description (include the game and the name of the cheat if known), and hit "Submit"

To reach a user's Steam Community profile while in-game:

1. Press shift+tab (by default) to bring up the Steam Overlay
2. In the Friends panel on the left, click "View Players"
3. Find the offending player under the appropriate tab and click "Profile"

Actually I am already member of that group from the RO1 days. Shame I didn't know about their deal with TWI servers, I would have loved to have seen this one banned.

Thanks. Especially the ability to see steam id will come in handy in the future (In RO1 used the inarguably more difficult method with listplayers in the console etc for tkers).

Just a heads up re demo's and PBBans.
PBBans can only accept demo's that are recorded with the games built in recording feature, and also the server must be streaming at the time the demo was recorded.

We employ a variety of checks to ensure the validity of the demo and these checks can only be implemented if the above criteria is met.

Third party recording programs such as fraps can not be checked for authenticity and its easy to frame an innocent player using this method of recording.

I am a week ago suspected by an opponent player who stated
that i was cheating. I am very good with playing i must say.

But is it possible that i can be banned by such a kid who has stated that?

Okay okay, in ROost i was once banned from a server
because i was to good. I think that the admin played
with the opponents.
