TWI, I'm really am annoyed now!!

OK...yesterday it started CTD at splashscreen...in the end I had to redownload the whole bleeding game again and reinstalled (aahh the pleasures of steam). Rememebr when you just has to unistall then out your disk in to reinstall...taking all of 5mins...now you have to redownload which takes...hmm...most of the effin day!

Well it's started again...I've sent in the dmp and log file, but I'm posting here to tell TWI have effin pissed off I am.

Thankgod I'm on unlimited broadband as some poor b'#tards aren't and therefore would be well and truely screwed by what appears tp be complete incompetence by thos ewokring on the so called patches as I never had this problem until yesterday.

Wow. Please try to type a little more accurately.

I DO remember the old days before Steam...when you had to insert disks and hope that:
1. You could find your disks.
2. They didn't have scratches.
3. You're CD key was still around.
and you got to type your CD key in and go online to search for patches and try to connect to servers only to realize that everyone didn't have the same version of the game. It also took longer to figure out which server your friend was on.

No, give me Steam any day.

3. Be sure the catagory you have [game in question] filed under is open.
4. Right-Click [game in question].
5. Select "Backup Game Files..."

Optional:
6. Burn to Disk.
7. Put disk in 'safe' location.
8. Forget where disk is
9. Download from steam anyway when you have to reinstall.

I was very annoyed when I made that post...excuse the typos.

As for steam download rates sometime sit is 1.1mb which is fair enough...but that particular time it was around 260kbs.

I have a 10gig broadband connection...I refuse to go bigger as most of the time it's pure BS the rates they promote.

I backed up the files this time. Thanks for the tip.

Anyway I really didn't want to start posting rants on here and have held back over the last week or so. However there is only so much a person can take before they have to vent.

It isn't just the bugs it's the simplistic nature of many so called new features and an overall dumbing down of the old features. That with CTD's becomes abit to much in the end.

Seriously it's been 12 days and the games in much better shape then some are 12 weeks after release. Atleast we don't have problems like half the potential playerbase being locked out because they have the wrong brand of graphics card. Just give it some time.

Don't take offense as I'm just trying to help:

Are you certain you're not having hardware issues? What are your specs.

Have you tried other games? Download Team Fortress 2 and play that for a while (if you can download big games

If you're using Crossfire, disable it.

Update drivers and windows.

Verify game cache integrity.


I've never gotten a BSOD on multiple computers. No freezes either. Just crashes.
