Hello TW i would like to make a very clear sign to you if that is possible and i hope me making this thread gets across to you.

Recently casual audiences have been swamping into the forum ......

We have seen thread such as make this game on the PSP or bring it out on consoles or bring it out on the crappy wii 2 thing portable crap.

The thing is TW these people dont care for you they just want a game on their little device because it makes them more hardcore then lets say their counter parts if you do make the game on other gen all that's going to happen is your true fans will be lost and your casual audience will remain .....

I can just see it now TW i really can .....

Hey tripwire could you add some double shotguns a few extra map packs and maybe some awesome voice chat ......

It gets to the point where i want to strangle myself honestly .....

All im asking tripwire is stay on the PC i know your not open to consoles or them crappy portable things but dont get taken in by the money if it ever happens than i hope you at least make something like red orchestra console warfare or something :p and leave the real game on the real platfform that is pc obviously :IS2:.

The pc industry is ahead of these consoles we dont want them dragging us down again we want to advance in front of them we want to advance and demolish them bit by bit ! let us UNITE as one and stand up for what we like.

Red orchestra 2 could be the last game GOOD GAME to come out on pc i would like to thank tripwire for staying on the PC and giving us true fans an exclusive masterpeice.

I hope this message can get out to people all above get out to tripwire.

I hope people can add things also why they should not go to consoles etc or them portable things.

:IS2: Thanks for reading.

Tripwire will always stay true to us PC Gamers.

Aye. Being PC gamers themselves, they're more than likely feeling the same disappointment as us when it comes to an awful lot of other developers. Since TWI is run by mature adults that can make appropiate decisions by themselves without anyone from the forums attempting to hold their hands along the way, I can safely assume that as PC gamers, they're going to do the best they can to cater to the PC market with their own FPS games as they've shown us with RO and KF, and at the same time promote games like Dwarfs that are blatantly obvious light fun, casual games when they can to make more money from the many thousands of PC gamers who actually would like such a title.

I may be in the minority here but I certainly don't see myself as a PC exclusive player and I've had hundreds of hours of fun on my Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in the past.

Personally I DO hope RO2 reaches consoles, it opens up their market, gives TWI a huge injection of cash (hopefully) and this can only lead to improvements in the next title they produce.

Yes they need to continue developing on PC as the lead platform, and not dumb down the PC version - this is all in TWIs control.

The UE3 engine in particular is very good at developing for multiple platforms and there is no reason that I can see why RO2 shouldn't end up on console. Most of my friends are console gamers, they don't have the money or inclination to get a PC gaming rig and I for one would be happy to split my time on console and PC if it means playing a great game with friends. I do this already with Bad Company 2.

Afterall, isn't playing great games with friends what multiplayer gaming is all about?

I don't buy into the argument that multiple platforms means you have to water down the experience, perhaps bigger studios make these choices when developing for platforms simultaneously, but that's a CHOICE they have made, TWI doesn't have to follow that course of action.

I can relate to DirtyRat. If (when :p) TWI expand so much, I think it'd be a great idea if they developed on other platforms, but only made games that are directly intended for those platforms so there will be no dumbing down KF or RO for a different platform unless they put out another game like The Ball or Dwarfs where there is seemingly no real difference if they were put on a different platform.

I personally couldn't care less if TWI decided to head a game of theirs to consoles, mostly because I know that TWI would never betray their real fans.

They deserve the recognition and profit.

Ok, not quite sure I understand the OP, but here is my opinion:

Tripwire Interactive WILL develop for other platforms - in the foreseeable future. We will more likely do the actual "other platform" work with subcontractors, rather than learning the intricacies of the Wii/DS/Xbox/Whatever ourselves - we build on the PC, for the PC.

But we WILL do it. Now, as and when we do it, we will do it in a way that WE see as appropriate: this means that we will make versions of our games designed to make the bet use of each platform. That means PC stuff on PC (dedicated servers yaddayadda) - and platform-dependent stuff on the other platforms. You may have seen an announcement from Qualcomm about some work we are doing there - more about that soon - but there we will work to make the best use of the platform.

My/our view: trying to build one game that can be dumped onto as many platforms as possible is just being cheap/lazy - and is likely to reduce the game to the lowest common denominator, which makes for a reduced game experience. FFS people - when you are developing for multiple platforms, spend the time, money and effort to make it look like you give a sh1t about the customers on those different platforms!

Hah, Alan, that's exactly what I wanted to say. That TWI probably won't do all the dirty work on porting the games to other platforms, but would hire a studio that can port the game "under their command", so TWI would tell them what exactly they want from the port, and the studio will just do the work.

I don't see why they shouldn't. It's a huge market, and not only could they get a lot of money, they would also probably raise the bar for the FPS genre on the console market.

I won't play the console versions, but I'm pretty sure that there's a lot of people who would love to try it. Not every console player is a 13yo kiddie...

Thanks for clearing that up Alan,
As I've said in 2 other posts, For TWI to ignore other Platforms would be commercial suicide....where people get jittery is when we see Software Companies simply Port versions to other platforms (We know who they are).
If, As Alan has pointed out, Software Companies develop Game to take advantage of the individual Platforms, there isn't a problem, As Alan as pointed out, It's when Software Companies get "Lazy" that the aggro occurs.
Each Platform as it's own strengths and weaknesses....thankfully from Alans reply, TWI realise this....And I just complimented An Englishman....I now need a bath:p;):D

It;s not that i hate consoles nor do i despise their existent its more or less of TW getting the money then forgetting about the pc i know it wont happen thank god but i have seen some games just perished under consoles.

Once that flow of money comes in it will be known that the studio may like the cash flow this means trying to impress a different audience which is very worrying when you think of red orchestra realism etc.

It's clear TW wont be going consoles anytime soon but when they do just be clear if they start to enjoy the flow of money.....

Money always wins no matter what...............

This is why i said GOOD PC GAME because we only get maybe 1 or 2 games a year decent games and exclusive games on the pc.

I just see it this way i have been a pc gamer for 10 years i have seen so many things fall i have seen franchises torn apart and i have seen devs just slated off and perish etc its not good i dont want to see the same thing happen to tripwire i love you guys.

Reply guys i want to know what everyone thinks its important that the community speaks now then later.

Those threads appear to be tongue-in-cheek to begin with. Additionally, I'm not a big fan of sticking labels on people. Its been the bane of good communities for a long while.

People know what they sign up for when they load up RO, and I think Tripwire also knows this.

Super fake Moyako. Dat Osfront map on the bottom screen lol.
And TWI would never make a FPS on a console, especialy a portable console that has barely to no precision when it comes to FPS games.

Its like playing football (it's called football Americans, not soccer) with a badminton racquet.

And the XBox Controller is only good for console FPS, to other styles of games it is wortheless when compared with the Dualshock ones.
