I think the game should have a small tutorial showing off the realism and telling players how stuff works, like how to turn on/off HUD, deploy bipods, take cover, bullet drop, etc etc. It could possibly help the new people who aren't used to this kind of FPS cause they spent all year playing MW2. ^^

It would be nice to add it or have some quick tips in the single player if you enable it.

Integrate everything into the singleplayer perhaps?

-"Hey soldier, you see that objective over there?"
(press "__" to toggle HUD)
-"Goood comrade, goood."

Or have that Metal Gear blatant approach
-"Press the "__" button to toggle your HUD comrade."

-"Goood comrade, goood."

I lol'd at the first one, that's actually what I was thinking. Tie the tutorial in as the first level of the singleplayer.

But we gotta find a way to explain more things than just keybinds to the player, like the realism.

How about this one...

-"Shoot that target comrade."

-"No, comrade aim higher! I don't know what rifles you've been shooting, but remember the bullet drop comrade! You may not get a second chance on the battlefield."

-"Goood shooting comrade, goood."

or

-"Shoot that target comrade."

-"No! Use the bipod comrade! That's what it's there for!"

-"Goood comrade you now understand that not every weapon can be shot from the hip with very much effectiveness, goood.

Armor support is here comrades!>>>> :IS2: :IS2: :IS2: :IS2:

Goood, goood.

I hope not every sentence will actually end with "comrade", or that sentences in general don't sound like they're from a translated novel or something. Contrary to what Hollywood and CoD might have us believe, I'm pretty sure Russians back then spoke as casually as everyone else...

Just some stereotypical joking there :p.

But yes, I believe any tutorial type teaching/learning should be fused with the singleplayer.

I've actually been working on one for quiet a while. Now don't judge it too hard because it's not done. POINT N CLICK!. Good right? lol But in all seriousness tutorials would be pretty good, especically since dlable game sdon't have manuals. They did it for RO OST so I imagine they will do it again.

Many clans often publish (written)Tutorials on their websites or make them available to their members. Also custom training maps such as the Core guys made a couple of years ago are community tools/products that if integrated and endorsed by community websites could help to get newbies closer to/ and into the game.
For example, I recently bought RO during the summer sale for a mate of mine and he encountered the usual troubles that newcomers face when playing RO. I got him the ported DH version of the Core trainings maps and after a while he had a hang of it and usually now does not whine anymore during a game.

Americas Army has many flaws but lack of training is not one of those. Except for the lenght. So training could be arranged into three parts:

1) Movement: WASD -keys, sprint and prone and crouch, positions but dolphin jumps and vaulting also. The basic boot camp.

2) Infantry weapons: adjusting sights, bullet drop, penetration and ballistics.

3) Possible vechile training: adjusting sights and correct angle and stuff.

Also if there's going to be a complex reinforcement system and artillery system education for officer class etc.

Then firing a DP at Germans assaulting your position would hear like your mixing mate : "Goo / Goo / Gooood Com / Gooood Comrade ! Goood !" :D
