Tutorial mission is bugged?

Edit: Cause of the problem found - the hold breath button doesn't work at all, it lets me sprint but that's all. Doesn't work for multiplayer either

So I tried the tutorial mission, got to the part where you have to press Left Shift to hold your breath with the SMG, but it does nothing. And when I shoot at the targets they don't go down no matter how good my aim is.
Also, it says at the bottom of the screen "Press left shift to take cover", while at the top there is a big message flashing "Press left shift to hold breath"
I checked in options and confirmed that left shift is the button for sprint/hold breath, but no avail.
How do I fix this?

(also, how do I play a game with bots? heck, how do I even host a game??)

you press left controll to take cover, not left shift. the singleplayer is awful anyway, it's the multiplayer that deserves your time.

The single player is quite entertaining especially the Russian one.

had same prob. It doesnt work. Tried everything, even remapping back the right key and it didnt work. Aint worth it.

on my first try at the training mission, the sniper rifle bugged out. I was stuck constantly reloading it without any way of stopping it (can't switch weapon, drop weapon, etc). That sucked...

Found out why - my hold breath button doesn't work AT ALL, not even in multiplayer! Even if I remap it, it still doesn't work! Why doesn't it work???

BUMP!!! One simple issue is stopping me from playing this game altogether, why can't I fix it??

Hey guys,

I think the hold breath button is hard-coded to be 'H'. Use 'h' for that part of the tutorial and you're off to the races. I ignore most of the tutorial messages anyway. I actually find the single player to be quite enjoyable with the difficulty set to hero.
