Partisan thingy doesn't sound good to me, compared to epic battles that await to be lived. Maybe for a bonus level, yeah why not.

For SinglePlayer..it might be intresting. But i never missed the SP in RO. An i find myself playing online only anyways these days. It might be good for sales through and in the long run getting more players regulary while adding some stuff and so on.

If they did it like OFP's Resistance campaign it could be cool, with equipment carrying over from mission to mission.

But they could take it one step further and have actual members of your party carry over from mission to mission, as well as your party's whole arsenal not just your personal weapons. So capturing an ammo convey would have significance, and so would taking casualties have consequences.

Resistance did do that :)
Only after a couple of missions you would get a couple of new recruits so you would never be alone.
However, what soldiers carried did go along with them to next missions, as well as the weapons that are in any of your vehicles when you finished the game.
There was a convoy ambush for example, you had to capture the trucks or destroy it whole. If you blew up the trucks it wouldve been fine, but if you capture the trucks (more trouble, try to keep your AI soldiers from shooting them lol) you would get the weapons inside them for next missions etc.

I agree though that an RO2 would not be best served with such a partisan campaign, perhaps as an extra but not as a main campaign, as that is not what RO1 is about.
However, i still do like the idea of the partisan thing, they would just have to have another name for it :)

here to kill your monster
I just saw something on Ray Mears Extreme Survival on Discovery wich i found to be pretty awesome.
He did a show about how to survive in a forest...............So they figured out how to survive in the woods, making shelters, finding food............ setting like that would be great for a game in my opinion, kinda like Operation Flashpoint Resistance, but with some added survival features or something :)

Good old Ray. Funny you mention that 'cos i was thinking yesterday about how nice it would be to have a basic survival feature build into jungle based shooters like farcry(2) and joint ops.
Take your knife to certain plants to obtain water - maybe not to heal as such but at least to recover stamina/endurance. If you found evidence of wildlife, you could 'use' your knife on the fauna near what you judge to be trails to create traps, and return to perhaps find you'd caught something.
To make it interesting you could have hornet's nests or other dangers to spot and steer clear of.
Is there a game like this? MGS 3 touched upon it i think.

I think a SP would no question be good(especcially for sales & attention given). A 5-8h campaign would be enough though, like in CoD. You play the SP and it's great but after it you do play the real thing, MP.

On the other hand.....IF they stick to the given formula...minor SP part and rocking MP, for a lower starting price, whouldent hurt either.

The people who play SP are the mass of the buyers normaly. But that group is mostly not intrested in a "frustrating" online experience, nor in mods in any way. Thats how it is. They play anotherone as soon as its *cool* to have those shiny archivements. So, a blown out SP part ( and thus meaning eating up resources for that ) and a mediocre MP part, whould not be the wisest thing anyways. Trough, we dont know of they even capable of delivering a good SP experience. ( and telling a good and intense story through it )

I hope for them they can, through, i also hope for another RO2.......Multiplayer, Online...no damm bot or coop or whatever you call it...

Well,i have a game lying around here called Survival actually, but it is topdown.
Your goal is to keep your survivors alive long enough by collecting food, building shelters, making knifes and other tools etc.
The concept is great, but unfortunately it lacks in control: you gotta click and click and click on a guy to select him, cause somehow it doesnt detect it well.
Then there is the default disaster on day 2, making everybody sick etc.
Music is cool though. You can 'upgrade'your survivors in their survival skills by letting them work in the parts you want them to improve on etc.
In the end you've gotta build a beacon, or a ship etc and send it out for getting help, and then that's the end of it hehe.

The first time you play it you overlook it's flaws just for the sake of it's originality, but i couldnt play it a second time hehe.

Unfortunately, i cant find any decent screenshots and i cant be arsed to install the game again :D

They are gonna announce that they blew all of their money on hookers and beer, and that they are selling their UE3 license to cover the costs.

How about they make an SP campaign from the German perspective with mature characters, depth, branching storyline and that doesn't treat war like an action movie but tries to convey absolute horror.

I know I ask a lot :D
